just bought it yesterday,im about 9 hours in,amazing game my favorite of the metroid franchise,id take ths game over bioshock any day.

so far i give this game about 9.6,some minor flaws but nothing very noticeable

Now I am about 5/6 hours in and I have to tell you that I am most impressed. I find myself liking and being hooked on more than Prime 1. (I never played echoes)

I'm sure you read the impressions about how the game starts out in a "halo" stylle fashion and the intro and many purists were scared that this are scared that it won't feel like metroid. Put those feelings asides, I'm here to tell you that the begging parts are fantastic and show you a broader metroid universe. I have also played and beat every 2d metroid to date. Yes there are other hunters woven into the story, but this doesnt detract in anyways, infact It makes the story more intresting.

But wait is it linear? It does start on the linear side the first couple of hours, but once you get off the first planet "Norion" and head out to the remaining two, it becomes pure open ended metroid bliss. These planets are amazingly constructed and give you a feeling of isolation. I don't want to spoil any more for you guys but I truly feel that this will be the best prime to date.Score wise I don't see it getting anything under a 9.7. Oh and the graphics are by far the best Wii graphics to date! Retro Outdid themselves.

Last thing I want to say is Matt is right about the Hype. My job entitles me to industry information and as far as the buzz and reserves for this game they are way under expectations. Way under the first prime. And aren't even close to games like new Ips such as Bioshock, assassins creed, or mass effect.
So start the hype now, because this game has to do amazing so we can show nintendo how big of a core crowd they really have! GO tell everyone you know, this is GOTY material.

Q:How is the difficulty so far? is it easy, hard, or just right?

Actually I'd say meduim so far. I'ts got quite a bit more difficult though, especially the smart enviormental puzzles...

In bioshock I don't understand why the dude decides that its a good ideato start activating the lift thingy. Wouldn't you just wait around for either a rescue or a passing a boat?

I guess that wouldn't have made much a good game? But still, i can't help but think the dude brought it on himself.

I think it would have been better if there was a button in the lighthouse that said "escape pod" and the guy thought that he was activating some kinda becon...but unbeknown to him he was activating the escape pod RECALL to the city of rapture (someone down in rapture had used the escape pod when things started to go crazy in the city) That would have been cool - because that would have been an honest mistake that landed him in trouble that he needs to escape from....rather than some doof that decided to start pressing buttons.

I think they should draft me in to fill in the blanks in computer games *high five*

oh the irony,Cows were laughing at sheep because "tey onli had teh big three!!!11!!1!1!!1!" and now three of their 5 most hyped exclusives for 07 flop big time,now cows have RAC and Uncharted to hype,Imagine uncharted flopping too(I cant see ratchet and clank flopping).

meh though I got all 3 systems ill be enjoying these upcoming months of gaming bliss open minded and not comparing games to others.
