I have Vista right now and im fine with it. So are you saying i should buy a more expensive case with more fans???Pelicans

Its up to you... it really depends on how much space u have on or under your desk and where u wanna place it. I doubt you will have any trouble with the case youve shown us. I like a really big case because its just easier to work with - sometimes its easier to keep things organised in a larger case as well (such as cables). Though, more fans = a lot more noise as well.

I was originally gonna buy an Alienware but that would have set me back $2500. But I changed my mind and decided to build it and i can get almost that same exact rig for $1000. And how long does it take to build a PC once you have the parts. It is my first build. Pelicans

Yeah DIY for desktops is definitely the way to go.

That question is a tough one to answer. I built my first PC when i was still a teen and it took me a few hours to get it all going properly. Nowadays it takes me 30-45 mins tops.

Just be patient, start with the mobo and CPU, followed by video card and hard drives and other PCI cards. Sometimes the most annoying part can be connecting the case to the mobo (ie LED, power switch, front USB ports) but there is usually info in the manual if u get stuck.

Yeah im gonna get a ATX board. And are there slots on the board that can fit 2 ATI 4850 HD 512MB with CF. Pelicans

Sounds good, dude! You may need to get an extra fan or 2 for that case, cos im not sure it comes with one in the front which is quite important for a good flow of air (to have an intake fan at front and exhaust fan(s) at the rear).

And, just in case you are unsure - I would stick with Windows Vista rather than XP. When I first switched to Vista, I hated it! But slowly and surely I got used to it and now I realise how far superior it is. (And i was a big XP fanboy at one time.)

I was just messin with you man! This case looks fine. I personally prefer to get a huge server tower just so i have plenty of airflow and space to move my hands around :)

What you need to be askin is what motherboard to get and then find a case that is compatible. This case should do fine for all ATX mobos, though.

Have fun man! I always really enjoy putting a new PC together.

Yeah, I dont use a Mac but I have nothing against them. Things like audio and video production are often better on a Mac and there are tend to be more professional programs available on Macs for certain things. On the other hand, Windows PCs have a larger variety of games and generally better suited for gaming.

Either way, I totally agree with others... We (all PC gamers) need to ally against our true enemy.. the consoles. Console gamers may outnumber us and there is a growing bias in their favour brewing in the industry. However, our superior intelligence, technology and tactics should allow us to prevail in the end!

Thanks a lot for your good responses, guys!

Seems like its a very easy choice :)

Btw, roughly how long does Witcher take to complete? As I said, I dont have loads of time for games these days. My hope is to finish it before Far Cry 2 comes out! :D

And for RPG fans, did it make any difference for you that you cant create/customize the character? Thats always one of my favourite aspects of a RPG.

Hey guys,

I know these two are totally different, but I'm kinda in the mood for a game with a good story and sword fights. Should i get Witcher or AC? Which game is longer (longer isnt necessarily better as I am quite busy these days with university and work)? Which is more engaging/interesting? Graphics?

One thing that turns me off about the Witcher is that its an RPG, yet you cant customize your character. The thing that Ive heard about AC is that that the main story is quite repetitive in that you are doing exactly the same quest over and over. Would you guys agree or disagree with these allegations?

I like all types of games from FPS to RTS, from action/adventure to RPG, and even racing/sports. Perhaps someone has an alternate suggestion that I may like even better than either of these two?

Thanks!
