My fave Coen joint is Oh, Brother, Where Art Thou?. As for True Grit, it was good, but they played up the sentimentality element (as per the original film) a little too much toward the end. But when they switch to Mattie Ross as an adult at the very end, it goes back to proper Coen fair.

I would be down with any height, for the pure experience of doing it.

If there is no Guinness Title involved, the deal is off.

Screw all of this, my silly inebriated cohorts! Let's toast a tribute to the best British film ever made, Withnail and I!

We shall do it by playing the Withnail and I Drinking Game (TM).

Dennis Pennis is the man! This too.

SoBaus

put on some thick glasses and annoy people with inapporpriate questions? in comedy, thats whats known as a hack... if you have to create an alternate persona to be funny... thats means... YOU ARE NOT FUNNY. Ask larry the cable guy.

But Larry is a hick! Paul is funny! (Hick as opposed to Hack)

Social norms determine regional concepts of morality.

I can piss in the street in the UK and likely not get arrested. In the US I would be toast. I can adulterate women openly in France and no one would bat an eyelid. Try that in the US and you will get busted as in the case of :) .......took me a minute to lookup that dudes name - Dominique Strauss-Kahn.

I call major BS on this. When one makes an error in judgement such as the ruling of the death penalty and later finds the real killer/ would that not be an error? If humans can never be responsivle for their own actions than why do we have a justice system (albeit in the US a very falwed one). If we are only made of our genetic material, matter, consciousness, social structure, and civilization as a whole. then how do you account for our individuality? the size of the all the genetic material is about 750MB uncompressed but the differance between each individuals genetic makeup is roughly 10MB. How do you explain art? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Which if i remeber are only Homo Saipiens and possibly only 1-2 speciations down the tree that can apreciate art and recognize thier own existence. Mistakes are anything that produces an undesireable outcome. Whether it be socially undesireable, personally undesireable, economically undesirable etc. Yes i do understand most of that was rambling or rhetoric but my point stands no human being is perfect.

You seem to be trying to justify something that does not require justification. No Human Being is "perfect"? No S**T!? That is because the concept of perfection is a misnomer. You typed many words, yet I did not identify much in the way of logic in the vast majority of them. Instead of trying to defy me, as you apparently are, you should just sit back, chill out, and enjoy the ride, for it it a ludicrous, pointless, and enjoyable one.

fine appearently giving the definition of mistake and showing that humans make them is obviously not a good argument against "Humans make no mistakes"

Dude, there is no such thing as a mistake, there are just actions which society finds that pisses them off, and since we are all products of society, we shall be subject to them, but don't for one f****g second think that any of our actions have anything to do with any absolute concept of morality. Morality is socially constructed.

No... i wasnt refering to you. and how do you have audacity to say everyone is perfect? how do you explain all the mistakes humans make on a daily F...ing basis. Self Help is just retarded. Example if youre a depressed how can you make yourself not depressed without any external stimuli. No one can become undepressed or change their ways without external stimulus telling them to do so. they can do just the oppsite very easily. in the case of the depressed man he can stay depressed much more easlily if he is only left with his thoughts

sonichunter99

Humans don't make mistakes, unless it is mathematical in nature, because beyond that, there is no such thing as a mistake. You seem to be quite on a crusade of your own objective, the likes of which I can only speculate upon. Ultimately, none of us can ever be responsible for anything, as all of us are just products or our genetics and our society.

Bottom Line: None of us will ever be qualified to make judgements on each other.

random question: how does one help himself when he is the one thats screwed up?

sonichunter99

No one screws up. Were you referring to me? What was your point?
