Don't get me wrong, WRPG's are fantastic as well, but JRPG's just have a style that welcomes newcomers and keeps vets hooked. I really recommend you download FFVII and/or FFVIII from the PSN for your first RPG. They're both amazing games, both have well written and deep stories, and best of all: they cost $10 each. Better you spend $10 than $60+ and find out RPG's aren't your forte.

AH. Problem solved. I just unplugged the HDMI cable and plugged it back in.... not sure why it would ever go away in the first place after all that. Figures I would figure it out 5 minutes after I post. Cheers.

Ok, here is the sequence of events:

1. Playing Heavy Rain and the game freezes. I give it 10 minutes to come back and it doesn't

2. I press and hold the power button to put the PS3 back in standby mode.

3. I turn the power switch off AFTER it enters standy mode i.e. the red light.

4. I turn the system back on, and I get the following message "Your PS3 did not turn off properly and needs to be shut down to prevent data loss or corruption."

5. So I shut it down like it said going under "User" and "Turn off system."

6. I wait a minute or two and turn the PS3 back on, and VOILA it just stays on a blank screen....

I feel like I did nothing wrong. ANY HELP AT ALL???

Actually the lineup on the PS3 for this year is looking pretty stale especially when you compare it to last year. After God of War III comes out, which I will be getting day one, there's not much coming on the PS3 that really has me excited. That is, unless The Last Guardian miraculously releases this year. I think the 360 is going to have a mean year with SC: Conviction, Alan Wake, Halo: Reach, and of course the already released Mass Effect 2, which is leagues better than Dragon Age (in my opinion). So yeah, it's a great time to be a gamer, if you have both systems.
