So... Old Cruise movies are actually pretty... good?

Don't ask me why im even talking about let alone writing a blog about Tom Cruise on a gaming website but...

After watching a few of his movies fromthe 80's and watching some of his movies now, I can tell you i actually enjoyed his movies, them being:

CockTail:weird

Now this movie came out when Cruise was at the top of his dear i say '' heart throb '' days??... Hence why alot of reviews of this movie iv'e read say that it's just a '' Cash-in '' or '' typical 80's Cruise movie ''. Which i can certainly see considering there are NOTICEABLE plot holes or the fact that Tom Cruise is ment to of just got out of the Army... Who'd believe that? But even that didn't take away that much of the enjoyment i had while watching this movie. I thought the chemistry between Cruise and Bryan Brown (co-Star)was great,I thought it hadgood romance aswelland althoughi get annoyed by Tom Cruise nowadays becuase of the crappy movies he makes ( opinion), he didnt get on my nerves in this movie which is stated as being a '' Cult ''movie or a '' sleeper-hit ''

A few Good Men:huh.

A Legal Thriller as it were in which Tom Cruise plays a young and slightly cocky-realist Military Lawyer who has to defend two petty officers charged with murder. Now i like this movie not only becuase i think Demi Moore is hot ( true story ) but becuase i really didnt know what was going to happen next which was quite supprising. Now this movie is quite famous for the Nicholson line '' You want the truth..?... You Can't Handle the truth!! '' which is used alot nowadays.

Jerry Maquire:Cuba

Now Jerry Maquire is kinda recent ( 1996 ) but still i think this film is awesome for two main reasons:

1, The pacing of the film is great, It picks up and slows down when you'd expect it too

2. Cuba Gooding Jr. steals the show in this movie ( or atleast every scene he's in ). I was even quite stunning at the great chemisrty between Tom Cruise and Cuba gooding Jr.

Out of all three movies i think this one deffiently shows that Tom Cruise can act solely becuase he plays a Sports agent and he made me believe that he's a freaken sports agent.

None of the movies i just listed are neither big blockbuster hits nor did they have multi-million Dollar budgets like the movies of today but after watching these movies im certainly considering picking up Rain Man and Risky Business if i find then cheap on DVD. Hell i might even review them in the future.

Basically this whole blog exists for the sheer fact that i an shocked at myself that i like some movie's with Tom Cruise in:

Cocktail - Good Chemistry, Good Romance

A Few Good Men - Good story, Twists

Jerry Maquire - Cuba Gooding Jr, Good Acting, Pacing.

Of course none of you may like Tom Cruise, All of you may like him hell you may or may not of seen all/any of his movies but if your a fan of 80's movies you should check them out.

Quick Blog:So im finally at that point in my anime watching, where...

There is NOTHING to watch...

Yes after 2 or so years of not having this problem Im seriously comtemplating watching stuff that i just dont want too... like Code Ge(ass), man i hate that show but with nothing left it looks like i may need to watch it as its proberly the best or the worst, if you know what i mean.

Also i sometimes try to re-watch anime but i just can't seem to do it aint that wierd?

It seems i can only watch a select few anime more than once, shows like Death Note, Full Metal Panic, BECK, Cowboy Bebob ect... anyone else have this problem or am i just wierd?

Oh and i seem to find watching Anime with Historical settings well... Hard. They have so many factions or clans and have HUGE words for everything so i find it stupidly hard to keep a track of who's, who and where there from, im looking at you Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto.

Anyway i do kinda come off as some watching junkie becuase it sounds like im whining or whatever, which i dont really feel like im doing, i just dont wanna watch stuff that i fell like im forced to, so if anyone has any title's that are not here then thanks :D.

Quick Blog: My Favourite Anime opening's

Im just going to get into it ( i apologize for lack of embedded video's hence i have no idear how to do it here on gamespot even though i can do it on other sites, so if you can embed couldanyone can shed light on that ill update the blog with said videos :P) Ive linked the anime Tiles and they lead to the correct videos.

1.Devil May Cry animeDevil May Cry

Yes Devil May Cry: the Anime has the best opening i have ever seen to an anime great animation through out ( although during the 1minuite and 30 odd seconds you cant see alot of whats going on xD)...

Quick Blog: So i got a new Emblem??

Hey guys,

Im back from being away for nearly a month doing... '' stuff ''.( Ive been on here and there)

Anyway i log in and such glance over to see what level i am for some random reason and have a new emblem, for apparently voting for something that was on something... It's really wierd actually, i really dont care that much for emblems or what ever considering they just sit there and do nothing ( kinda like achievements but without the addiction :P)..

But yeh, i was just wondering if anyone else has this emblem and if you do how did you get it? xD

P.S. Seriously considering buying Devil may cry 1, 2 and 3. Anyone chime in to let me know how good the story is or the gameplay ( played alittle of each but never completed them ).

Shakugan no Shana season 3 confirmed?!?!

An OVA series entitled Shakugan no Shana S will begin to be produced on October 23, 2009 followed by a third and final television anime season of Shakugan no Shana... - Wikipedia

The August Issue of Gakken's Animedia Magazine will publish a quote from producer Nobuhiro Nakayama regarding the upcoming Shana project based on Yashichiro Takahashi and Noizi Ito's Fantasy light novels. Nakayama says he is aiming for the finale of the storyline, but before the staffers can do the third series, they must delve into the characters backgrounds aswell as their deep relationships. According to Nakayama, that is why they are producing the OVA first. - AnimeNewsNetwork

The OVA has been confirmed but as for the third season, i'd take it with a pinch of salt, however i would guess the time frame for the '' finale season '' would be around FALL 2010.

So there turning one of my Favourite books seires into a Movie...

So after years of high Antisipation, Hollywood are finally turning Darren Shans well known Vampire Series into Movies Starting with Cirque Du Freak.

Now after having all 12 or 13 books in the series while i was still at school a couple of years ago I can tell you my thoughts on the trailer seen here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJL2wP1GagI

Of course being only the first books in the series i couldn't tell what kind of direction the movies are going to go...

But for me 2 things stand out:

1. Comedy - From the trailer i could tell straight away it seemed that the movie had a light hearted feel, However (even though i can't comment on the actual film) i think it would of been FAR better if it had done the same thing as the Harry Potter movies and stayed alot darker like the books...

2. John C. Riley - You know the guy from basiicaly all of Will Farrel's comedy's ( Step Brothers) playing Mr.Crepsley.

Again the movie isn't out yet and im fully aware that this movie is ment to be for young adults but seriously????

Now my memopry isn't 100% on remembering alot of what happens in the books BUT i do remember Mr. Crepsley being a strict mentor, Father-like figure to Darren( Main character)...

At the end of the day i do hope that with the later later books they adapt, they make it in the same vain as the Harry Potter books and go alittle more action and Darker oriented but thats just me..

Bought me some Death Note [Goodies]

Hey Guys,

So just like the title of the blog says i recently bought a few items Death Note Related :P:

Vol 5 Death Note

Death Note Volume 5.

I found it in my local HVM store so i was pretty happy about it to be honest. Cost me £20 (which is redicously expensive for 1 volume ) and contains Episodes 29 - 37 meaning i have now got the whole Death Note series on DVD :D.

To co-inside with this i've decided to re-watch the whole series again and review it fully just like my YuYu-Hakusho review ( see previous blog if not done so ).

death note movieDeath note stuff

Death Note The Movie. 2 Disc Special Edition.

Another item that set me down £20 ( Again stupidly over-priced ) so i went up to the counter and actually asked why the hell it cost so much for one movie?

The guy told me '' Becuase it's the special Edition, man. ''

I'll admit it is a really great film and everything BUT £20.... Maybe if it was on Blu-Ray then yeah but come on.

Anyway, like i've said not only to you get the movie but you get a second disc containing ALOT of special features:

Interviews, Featurettes, Cut and deleted scenes ect..

And it comes in a case, that once you pull out of the cover, ( cover = the pic above ) makes it look like an actual Death Note, which is pretty cool. But not only that, once you actually open the case, instead of getting that crappy paper that you get get in some DVD's telling you the scene selection you get a '' Death Note '' that not only tells you the rules on how to use it ( just like the movie and anime ) but it also tell you all the actors Filmography's and Bio's which is abit meaningless but cool none the less.

*Now i've gotta try and find the second movie and the L Spin off prequel in '' 2 Disc special Edition, man! ''

Death note T ShirtLIGHT T-SHIRT

Death Note T-Shirts.

So a friend of mine went on holiday to America so i askedc him while he was there if he could look around for eithier an L or a Light Death Note t-Shirt and whaddya know.. He came back with both :P. According to him they cost around $15.99 each which is like £22 all together or something so i payed him back. All in all a selection of good buys.

On a side note you'd think that somthing that isn't as well known here in the UK wouldn't be so costly but hey.

ANIME IS **** EXPENSIVE!
