Kind of a self-own to say that Silent Hill 2 remake is like the only good game you've made... it basically means you can't design a game from scratch yourself...
Looks a bit of a lazy souls clone. Unless there's anything that sparks an interest I can't see me being interested in this. (I like souls games, but with how many there are now I need something extra to draw me in)
@zeemansingapore: At its core, ER is a souls game. So yes, difficulty is one of hte draws of the game. But it was such an impressive entry that it went beyond the supposed niche of souls players and sold 23 mil copies like someone says.
That being said, it still doesn't mean it's going to be for everyone. And gamers have to appreciate that a game might not be for them, even if it transcends its usual market and becomes one of the highest rated games of all time. It's unrealistic to expect all games to be catered to your sensibilities.
Could they have made an easy mode for the more casual players? Maybe... but it's not like they tried sugar coating what the game was about.
@Spartan_418: The Alien franchise is all over the place. And I say that as a huge Alien fan (literally my favourite movie). To have both Alien and Aliens in the same series is impressive since they're absolute masterclass films in their genre. The Xeno became iconic and the epitome of what a monster can be in a film... and they took it for everything it was worth. 3 + resurrection weren't good films. The AVP crossover cheapened the Xeno even more as some kind of pet the Yautja hunted.
Then Prometheus / Covenant which went all philosophical and ruined the origins of the xeno entirely (space jockey mystery was so much better than engineers)
