@runstalker: does it bother anyone that hugh is like a plodding heavy footed lumberjack running when he should be a 5'8" beast that can flip and somersault around the battle?
@collbanth: no game will ever beat out 7 for me. I just played it at the right time in my life and it hit so many new game elements for me that it will always be #1. But everyone has a game like that. I'm going to get this game soon but I still doubt it will beat any of the golden age (6-10), FF's for me. But if it can slide into that 6th best slot it'll be a big win for me.
I own both systems and usually buy Xbox for because friends for multiplayer games. But I'll definitely get this on PS4. Those vistas just aren't the same on Xbox. And traversing a gorgeous world is one of the perks listed in the reviews of this game. Kinda lose that perk on Xbox. My PS4 was needing some more use anyway lol.
@quakeknight1991: well he didn't mention skyrim (my main issue with it was also combat), but I hope your right. And of course older games in the series had repetition as well but it got gradually more complex and interesting as the game went. FFXV seems like all its cards are on the table from the beginning with the exception being the fun and interesting magic crafting system. I hope they have a similar system for weapons and armor and I hope combos become more complicated and harder to pull off. I just like my challenge to be of a skill based technical nature and eased with proper preparation and planning. I'll have a look at those videos. but I haven't enjoyed a numbered FF since 10 so I've been burned for years.
@quakeknight1991: he's saying they are action RPGs with much better combat. To that point I agree with him. The game could very well be a 9/10 or 10/10 in every other category but 80% of the game will be combat and will kill the overall score/fun if the combat isn't fun and rewarding. Based on the demo's it is neither of those. I have hopes a mountain high for this game, but I can't actually believe they play test this game and are like "yeah this combat is so fun!" Just no pple must be afraid to tell their boss the truth. Gaming mags and websites don't help trying to put a positive spin on everything just because it is a beloved franchise and certain aspects of it are great. The only place you hear the truth is in the comments and after release. But that keeps from hurting initial sales and the comments are so full of bs you don't give credit to any of them.
@Leykis: I have and he is exactly right. The movie is practically a remake of the original. Only it had super fast pacing so you never really even felt the more dramatic moments. It was like ok this happened, Moving on.
