Does anyone still play Call Of Duty 3?

I know several people didn't like it, or have moved on to WAW or 4, but I just have this insane craving to play it, and I'm sure i could pick it up extemely cheap, I just don't want to waste ten dollars and not really play it with anyone. I still have some single player ahcievements I could pick up, but I really wanna play it online for some odd reason.

so, if anyone knows about the status of COD3's online community, hit up this thread and let me know.

Gracias.

I think you forgot a couple good games on your list. They're old, but they are must haves.

They're called "Grammar" and "Puncuation".

Great ones to own, you should pick them up.

Oh yeah, if you've got some extra cash after getting those, you could try this other game called "Spelling".

lol again^^

this has nothing to do with downloading the content, we were all saying that this information about the content, not the content itself, is old news.

in interenet time, two weeks is old news. even without having your 360, you still could've known about the new content. the RR has nothing to do with you knowing or not knowing about the dlc.

that's why i found your post humorous.

haha ^^

RROD has nothing to do with posting a thread about old info.

not to give you a hard time or anything, that just made me laugh, because RR and old news have nothing to do with each other.

alright man hope i can help.

i had this same problem. got the limited edition, maps worked, lancer didn't, it was frustrating. whenever i entered the code to trigger the download, i got a message saying something about an error and it wouldn't work.

i read online somewhere that if you go to account management, then to download history and find the lancer download, then click on download again, it would work. well that didn't work either. that was the number one thing on my list of previous downloads.

so then later i downloaded something else, i think it was burnout paradise dlc. when i downloaded that, it bumped the golden lancer down to the second thing on my list of downloads. i tried to download it again, and it worked. not sure if it not being the first item on the list had anything to do with it, but when i tried the suggestion that epic was giving everyone, to choose the download again option, it never worked. but finally one day it did, but it was after i had something else in my list above the lancer download.

sorry if this post was long and boring, but i hope it helped. and if you were wondering if you had to use the gold plated lancer forever after you download it, you don't. you can choose not to use it, but use the standard version instead if you so choose.

i think i'm one of the 5 out of the 50 people that didn't like call of duty 4.

don't get me wrong, it was fun while it lasted... about 3 months. not a very long life for a game that was 60 bucks. sorry. i beat the campaign all up and down played a decent amount of multiplayer, but i got sick of it, i traded it in. if the multiplayer was supposed to make it last longer than it did, then it was a fail in my opinion. maybe if they could bring something new to the table besides point shoot, whoever shoots first win, with little to no teamwork, this new game could interest me.

i bought the orange box at the beginning of this year. i loved it, and still do.

the half life series are just simply amazing. some of the best story telling you'll ever see in a video game, IMO. so you get the full game of half life 2, plus episodes 1 and 2. just simply amazing.

next is portal, i wasn't expecting much with this, just a fun little puzzle game, but yet again valve makes an interesting story for this one. it leaves you wondering what happens next, possibly opening the door for another, i've heard rumors that portal has something to do with half life 2: episode 3. could be cool.

then you have team fortress 2. great multiplayer. a lot different than run and gun CoD, or shoot melee shoot Halo 3. just a basic FPS where everyone on the team plays an important role do to the class based play. great for teamwork and probably the only way it should be played is with teamwork. the connection though is a lot like the original gears where some one hosts a game and you have to join, or you host one and wait for others, no matchmaking with this one. the community isn't all that amazing in terms of population because most of the people who play are on pc. But, i didn't have too hard of a time playing it whenever i wanted. a lot of fun.

if you like achievements it has some pretty good ones. i myself love achievements, and the orange box has a really good list of ones to get. some basic ones then some harder ones. there's only a few that i think are dumb, so for the most part they'll have you coming back for more, if that's what you're into.

i bought the game for $60 and i thought it was well worth it. valve is an amazing company and i think they will be here for a long time. i'm not sure of the price now, but know that whatever it is, it's well worth it. i think everyone should try it out. it's a bit underated for consoles, considering it all originated on the PC, so a lot of people might tell you it's crap, but don't listen to them because they are the typical console fanboy who only care about graphics and their KDR. just because it's not halo or call of duty doesn't mean it's not any good. IMO these games are better than halo and cod combined. it's just an amazing experience.

i think i've wrote enough about it, so just buy it and see it all for yourself. you won't be disappointed.

hope this helped.
