Prove it. rawsavon and i both engages in performance based pay and have a bad service rate in the 4th or 5th standard deviation all huge outliers in our experience. those here who have been promoting flat pay have also been talking about bad service such as spitting in the food because this was even on their mind it must occur far more frequently maybe even regularly, either way it is enough to take note of. this thread is my proofCool story bro. Anything better than carefully-selected anecdotal evidence from a small sample, or is that it?[QUOTE="B33thoven"][QUOTE="surrealnumber5"] with a flat rate their is no motivation to do your best as you will not get anything more for doing your best. performance based pay will always produce better results then flat pay. surrealnumber5

[QUOTE="Teenaged"]Same thing. The tipping system exists largely because of the flat paying system.[QUOTE="surrealnumber5"] the tipping system does not justify it, the flat pay system does as the waiter will get the same pay regardless of the service. with tips people try their best as it is in their best interest to do so, that being the tip. surrealnumber5
They could make the pay system, you know, more just by paying them for their full services and employers could be firing people based on customer complaints. A paying system that excludes the need of tipping can provide with anough motivation.

Prove it.[QUOTE="B33thoven"]Oh dear, the nationalists are coming out of the woodwork.CannedWormsNo, it just irritates me when non-US users decide to make everything so convenient for Americans. Um, he was talking to an American and merely doing him the courtesy of converting currencies. I dunno, maybe convenience for Americans is something you oppose?
if they eat at a dive where none of the workers want to be thats on them surrealnumber5Of course the workers don't want to be there, they're getting paid a few dollars an hour. ****ing hell.
[QUOTE="markop2003"][QUOTE="Engrish_Major"]Who are they going to find that will be happy working for $2.15/hour?CannedWormsIt's illegal to pay a worker over 18 less than $7.23 per hour in the UKSorry, but why are you converting pounds to dollars? Oh dear, the nationalists are coming out of the woodwork.
[QUOTE="B33thoven"][QUOTE="rawsavon"] They are not breaking the law though (here) You pay one way or the other as a customer...you pay they wage or you pay their tip...the money all comes from the same source...YOUrawsavonYes they are. It is absolutely illegal, even though an exception is made. Not here...it is legal You like having less control over the situation as a consumer...to be forced to pay a set amount no matter the quality of service? For the most part, so do you - unless you're willing to argue that we start tipping variable amounts to teachers, doctors, shop workers, and bus drivers?
[QUOTE="B33thoven"][QUOTE="rawsavon"] And I feel that those that do not tip (here) don't deserve to eat there...they are both just as bad as the other -one ****ed with someone's life (their money and livelihood) -the other ****ed with their foodrawsavonNo, no, no. Don't paint us as responsible. Restaurants are breaking the law; I'm not. You're helping them do so by making up the difference; I'm not. They are not breaking the law though (here) You pay one way or the other as a customer...you pay they wage or you pay their tip...the money all comes from the same source...YOUYes they are.
