I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light on how to consistantly dodge in RE:UC. I'm specifically refering to the waggle dodge far more than any other. I'd hate to assume its just bad game design that makes this dodge so hard to pull for me, so I'm asking to find out how people have been able to do this relatively consistantly.

During a sequence in the Resident Evil 0 game there is a sequence that you must dodge or dye from an explosion. Playing this area one player was fine as I'd survive quite easily if it was a button press. However, when playing this two players, we had to try this section easily 30+ times because it would never stop giving the waggle motion for one of us. We got through it but it seems like luck whenever we successfully dodge that way. How is it done?

We've tried just doing long sweeping strides back and fourth long before the action even appears with no luck.

We've tried doing those exaggerated sweeping motions only when the icon appears.

We've tried real quick shaking like as though you were playing drums both continuously and at the time of the motion.

The only thing I know for sure is that if the wrong button is pressed during the displayed button press you auto fail. Are you not supposed to waggle a lot? Is it only looking for one singular reload motion and fails if multiple of those are detected?

RE:UC is a great game, but any sequence like this has made me want to not play it. Given I've only gone through Resident Evil Zero's part of the game, I'm sure I can expect a ton more of this to appear. Please help!

While Gamespot for Wii tends to give 'lower' scores, I feel that if you read or watch the reviews they justify the scores very well. Take Metroid Prime 3 for example. That game is amazing, but they nail exactly why it shouldn't have been a 9.5 or 10 game that people wanted. While I personally prefer IGN, I feel Gamestop does a far better job of pointing out realistic negatives or actualities of a game.

I'm looking forward to Umbrella Chronicles more having never played a 'light gun' game on a console...but there's no question that Mario will be the superior game in every way.

Long if buying it...short otherwise.

I'd hate to spend $60.00 on a 3 hour game that even if it was awesome I'd likely not play more than 3 times.

The main one is the censor when detecting motions towards and away from the screen. Perhaps its something that has never been coded well by the software developers yet, but I feel that if it hasn't really improved by now the fault likely lies with the Wii itself.

Other gripes with the system include:

Only having two USB ports:

This is arguably my main complaint. I, like many people have purchased battery charges for the controllers I own. I also have the wii setup for a wired internet connection. With only 2 ports, I cannot charge multiple controllers while using the internet. Considering there are households with chargers and four controllers, this is a significant oversight in my opinion. This system should have had a minimum of four ports.

Cost of certain games:

The Wii has become incredibly popular, as a result, it has many party games whose price tags far exceed the realm of reason. While this can hardly be a blame against Nintendo, its a very real detriment to the system.

Lack of RPG's:

This has been an issue with Nintendo spanning several systems. Tales of Symphonia for GC was an amazing game and I think there's a sequel in the works now. But fact is, the Wii severely lacks in these titles (I don't think it has one yet but I could be wrong). Granted you can use the VC to make up for this, I exclude that because those aren't Wii titles.

No, you shouldn't bother with MP3

Metroid Prime 3 is a fantastic game, but it does play very much like an advanced version of Prime 1.

Backtracking, while improved due to warp points still exists as that is the heart of Metroid. Its about finding an item, and going back to find what goodies can be unlocked by said item.

The fighting mechanics are there as well...with hyper mode you'll find that the battles are less tiresome but the core combat remains the same outside of the fact that you're using the wii-mote now.

Personally, I've always enjoyed the Metroid series, but absolutely love MP3 as it addresses the above two points in a better way than all previous titles I've played. For me, its easily best in series.

I find the more interesting thing is what will Xbox and PS take from the wii?

I really doubt Nintendo will make a system with a huge leap in graphics as much as people want because they simply don't want to sell an expensive system that is not readily available to the casual gamer as well. Unless this whole stance changes but there's no reason why it should based on their success. For all we know, it could be the PS4 that take this route, they like to steal Nintendo's successful ideas.

I don't like the idea at all. This pretty much forces the company to develop games for regular Wii and Wii DD. Meaning that fewer games will ultimately go to any gamer that doesn't own both. The Wii has never been based on graphics and to memory, has never tried to sell itself as a system that way. Anyone who doesn't like the look should simply move on to one of the competitors. Personally the games to me by no means look bad. They just don't stand up against the 'competition'.

Resident Evil 5 is the only game that'll make me want to purchase a PS3 (I can't justify a 360 as I refuse to pay more in order to play online). At the same time, I doubt I'll be able to justify spending $800.00 on a system primarily for 1 game, though I'm sure others will be of interest down the road as well.
