And I reading this right??

I mean the last DS I've bought is a DS Lite, so i'm way behind on DS', but I digress. The XL seems like it would blow up games way to much and make them looks pixelated and ugly. Considering I've got many DS games and will probably only have a handful of 3DS games, i'll want my DS games to not look horrible on the 3DS either way. But from what i've heard, there's some scracthing issue that has to do with the screens on the normal 3DS. How bad is it?
