[QUOTE="X360PS3AMD05"]Does the HD-DVD add-on for the 360 up-convert DVDs??codezer0
If you use the VGA cable, or have an elite 360 and use HDMI, the native 360 drive will be able to upscale DVD's as well. I believe the HD-DVD drive for the 360 should be able to up-convert DVD's, but not having one of my own, I can't be sure.

You are correct. Only via VGA or HDMI.

[QUOTE="codezer0"][QUOTE="CB4McGusto"]So is it safe to invest in Blu ray, or not? That's all I want to know!CB4McGusto

Why not invest in both? Then if one is declared the winner, its growth will outweigh whatever you may have invested in the other format.

I'm not going to buy a ps3 and a $300 HDdvd player. I got money, but damn I'm not rich! The thing is HDdvd has more of the movies Iwant out now, whereas blu ray has a ton of movies I want that are confirmed but don't have a release date.

So I would get a HD DVD player now, and get a BD player this fall when they are a little cheaper. I would bet that the PS3 will have a $100 price drop by Christmas, and BD decks will be between $299 to $399 as well.

Everyone needs to chill out. BOTH formats are doing pathetic. Honestly the BDA should be ashamed of themselves. In NA, there have been what around 1.3-1.5 million PS3's sold. So with the 100k BD players that Toshiba stated, there is 1.4-1.6 million Blu-ray players. In Apr, the BDA announced that they have sold of a million movies. 2 months later that would be between 1.2-1.4 million let's say.

They have a 59/41 advantage since inception. So HD DVD has sold between 800k to 1 million discs, correct. Toshiba claims that they have sold 150k players and can we all agree around 150k 360 add-ons (They sold 92k by Jan 1)

HD DVD has 300k players on the market and roughly 800k to 1 million movies sold for an attach rate of1 player for every2.5/3.33 movie sold.

BD has an attach rate of 1 player for every .85 movie sold.

It sad that BDA only has about a 20% software lead when they have a 60%-65% hardware lead.

They both offer the same codecs. Technically Blu-ray has more potential with greater bandwidth, but only enthusiasts will see a difference. I will admit that I personally find movies coded in VC-1 or AVC/Mpeg-4 look better than those in Mpeg-2, but that is just me. I personally am a HD DVD owner, because the currently better interactivity, prices, and better movie selection to my tastes. Only 3 of my10 HD DVD's are available in Blu-ray

[QUOTE="BadAndy642"]

[QUOTE="g-unit248"]of course it is because of science, all of you bible bangers out the fail to realize how massive and random the universe is, just last week they came out with a big report saying how there are numerous galaxies throughout the universe like ours with planets like earth (recently discovered with new technology), oh wait i forgot, all the scientists are are atheistic jerks working under political agendas :roll:g-unit248

What was the point in that?  Just because someone is a Christian, doesn't mean they believe that life can't exist elewhere.  Don't stereotype people.

the point was to support the randomness of the universe, im a Christian myself, and that by no means was meant to stereotype anyone, but i do like to use logic along with my beliefs, saying "because god put it there like that" just doesnt cut it for me.

That's fine, but your first post was very stereotypical atheist material. That is how it came across.

I have seen 68, and I would never have seen at 8 of them if I hadn't watched them at school.
