"By 2010, The PS3 Will BE DEAD."

That should be close to the end of the generation. I have no doubt that the PS3 will survive until the PS4 is released, and it's very rare for a console maker to quit after one non-leading generation when it lead the previous two.
As far as how long it's supported after the release of the PS4 I'm not so sure about - I believe it will depend on the total sales it receives this generation.
Sony won't release the PS4 until Holiday 2012-2013, mark my words.
Still doesn't mean the PS3 wont be dead by 2010. Look at the sales of mult-plats for signs. Look at the sale of exclusives for signs. You say it's because the 360 has a larger intall base? Well, isn't thatdifference remaining the same orslighly growing -EVEN though the PS3 has had 2 price drops?
Do you really believe that Sony will release their next system a year or two later than MS again?
I don't think a lot of gamers will be willing to upgrade to the next Xbox so soon. What will it really include? The next Xbox will prolly be as powerful as the PS3. The combination of a standard HDD, Blu-ray drive, and Cell processor will make the PS3 last for a long time. Some people are only looking at this as a short term thing, but the PS3 was built to last far longer than the Xbox 360 and if someone doesn't see that, then they're a fanboy. The hardware is there, but the developers need to jump on it and by 2009-2010 the PS3 will cost less and it'll be more appealing in the cost of development. A new Xbox, which will most likely have a standard HDD and HD format will be more expensive and new to developers, which will also carry a heavier cost.
Oh just LOL
This is the reason you're sitting here throwing the toys out of a pram on a video game forum whilst the people who know what they're doing are getting paid for it.
Go play with the Cow's Crystal Ball
