[QUOTE="BanjoKazooieRPG"][QUOTE="SolidTy"][ After the first disc, the game was Boring as heck, and the story couldn't have been more CLICHE if they tried.>Mlauthemighty
I'm doubting you've played Lost odyssey based on that line alone. Lost Odyssey's first disk in general was sort of boring and then it picked up and as far as stories go, they pretty much nailed the emotional part on the head. Why can't you just accept that people have DIFFERENT opinions? I'm not arguing score here, but I'm just informing the people who are into these games that these issues aren't here.
As you can see, I'm typing in bold in hope to get this across your thick skull. Maybe bold font is the key to the supremicist's mind?
And anyway, even if this is someone's first jrpg and they like it, so what? Then they like it. Understand? A game doesn't have to be universally liked to enjoy that, something that JRPG fans understand more than enough.
There's alot of us who agree with him though. In my opinion the story ended up going nowhere and Gongorra is one of the worst Villain's ever to star a jrpg :/
Here's my take on the cast:
Kaim: Ok, but a bit bland.
Seth: I probably liked her best.
Sarah: I had to look up her name just now. That's how much she impressed me.
Ming: I hate that veiny breasted whore.
Cooke: Only positive thing I can say about her is that I hate Mack more.
Mack: See Cooke.
Tolten: Oh dear.....
Sed: I actually sort of liked him. Seth's son, guess that explains it.
Gongorra: This guy saw Disney's "Beaty and the Beast" and decided he liked Gaston. Also known as Dark Hercules. He would probably have fitted the role of funny henchman for bad guy nr. 2 in a jrpg (bad guy nr. 2 is the one that gets offed on disc 2 to make way for the true evil). Suppose they got me there. I really thought he'd bugger off to make way for someone proper.
Sry if I'm being offensive but my inner troll got the best of me.
If you enjoy it, that's cool but for me it went:
Semi borish start (most rpg's are like this, need time to build up the plot) ---> Thing's are getting intense ---> Guess I'll go troll on my pc.
While I obviously cannot argue with your "I hated X character" points, how do you find Kaim to be bland? He's one of the more deeper personalities in games since a while. Or did you not read the dreams and wouldn't be able to realize the significance of some of the in game actions? And anyway, I finally understad why the giantbomb forums say "let's not let this become system wars". This place is awful. I made a post about how the Last Remnant's main issue is fine in the final version and instead this becomes a "jrpgs suck" debate?
Seriously, I don't like to say this, but GTFO.
