If the bad guy isn't spending all of his resources and time on kindnapping the hot girlfriend of a dudebro, then he's probably not a REAL bad guy.

@poopinpat Ah, gotcha. Rereading what you posted, your clarification makes sense.

There ARE higher priced Androids that are the same price range as iPad and the coming Windows tablets that are very comparable. So, the price of this Wikipad thing is not all that surprising. You have to pay a higher price for more bells and whistles.

My Android tab was $500 and I am thoroughly pleased with what it offers compared to the $200 Nexus 7. The N7 is a GREAT piece of hardware (trying to talk the wife into getting one) but I'd never want it myself as my day to day tablet. Maybe for travel.

@NickPunt636 You make it clear that an awful lot of people are into hack-n-slash games, but because YOU aren't, then they must be "old hat"?

Did it occur to you that if "EVERYONE went APESHIT about Darksiders", then everyone might also continue to go apeshit about other hack-n-slash types of games?

And just so you know, Darksiders is not a hack-n-slash anymore than one would call Zelda a hack-n-slash. The games takes a few hours to hit it's stride. The first hour is pretty horrible. I gave it a second chance recently and have been very happy I did.

@MoreThot Tablet sales kind of flatten your argument there.

@ayanematrix All other comparable tablets are around the same price. If you remove the cost of the controller peripheral from it, the tablet by itself is probably around $400 depending on whether or not the controller has a battery extender built in.

@WheelerJared This thing has a few specs that are all a step up compared to the Nexus 7:

Tegra 3 at 1.4ghz instead of 1.2ghz ("single core modes" are 1.5ghz and 1.3ghz respectively)

Gorilla Glass

16gig instead of 8gig on the $199 Nexus 7 model

A rear 8 megapixel camera in addition to the front camera

The whole snap on peripheral thingy

Is all that worth $300 extra? Eh.. probably not. No. I'd pay $80 for a snap on controller for the tablet I already own, if it had a battery extender on board, and if it existed. But buying a whole new tab to get all this? Heck no.

@poopinpat @Intellips There's an interesting app that let's you do it: http://kotaku.com/5876092/want-to-play-skyrim-on-a-tablet--theres-an-app-for-that

Granted, it's no different than how On Live works. Your PC does all the heavy lifting and streams it to your tablet, but STILL. Skyrim on a tablet :D

@IanNottinghamX Most games will make use of the controller, considering they already make use of other existing controllers.

It does provide a unique experience. I haven't seen any other snap on controllers in the market like that, have you? Anyone looking to buy a new tab, and is interested in gaming on it, will take a look at it. It'll be a ridiculously tough sell to anyone who recently spent a chunk on a tablet, but it's at least a new option. How is a failure to beat the iPad important at all? No companies should release tabs unless they can beat the iPad? That doesn't make sense at all.

I already have a tablet that I bought recently and I sure won't be trading it in to get one of these, but I'd really like to have a snap on controller like that for my tab. Too bad the form factor needs to be so specific for it.

@BmF_McLovin Well, from a technical specifications perspective, you could argue it is more powerful. The higher resolution screen for one. And the Tegra 3 at 1.4ghz is pretty damn good.

But, there are plenty of other reasons to pass besides that.
