[QUOTE="Big_player"]I feel like an absolute cold harded monster saying it, but logically the baby should not be kept alive. It's only furthering the mental and emotional distress of the mother which has obviously already taken a toll, and essentially she's spending resources on something that in no way benefits from them. I know I might take some slack from people here but sometimes people need to look past the emotional aspect of a situation and look at it logically.pope7446Yes, it is much more logical to starve a child to death or dismember her limb by limb. How dare we recognize her humanity! We don't live in a utilitarian society that determines someone's worth based on their potential benefit. We extend human rights to everyone, regardless of their ability to ever return our investment. It's really sad that you value some gauze and a feeding tube over the life of a child. Using the term humanity completely undermines what your saying, humanity is human's unique ability to feel empathy and use logic. There is no consciousness in this child and thus no humanity. and you don't need to starve or rip her apart to terminate a life, there's many other methods.
