Certain studios are format neutral which means that they support both formats. However, Warner has kept some titles off of BD due to technology restaints with IME and other features.

Major Neutral Studios:

Paramount/ Dreamworks

Warner Bros

BD Exclusive:

Disney

Sony Pictures

Fox / MGM

Lionsgate

HD DVD Exclusive:

Universal

The Weinstien Company

If i forgot any, sorry.

Sorry, 97% of the 360 games on the market are not in native 1080p. Better?

Yes it is true, you can only upscale to 1080p over VGA.

Looks good to me. I'm not sure buying an Elite would take full advantage of his TV as none of the 360's games/ movies are in native 1080p. However if you got a HD DVD or Blu Ray player than you'd be able to see what 1080p is all about.

In the long run he'd be better off saving up some more money and just buying the 20gb Hard Drive.
