I have a G5 and I did not experience a bottleneck because of that. I did however have a problem with xfire. Any time xfire was running my FPS wouldn't get over 20. When xfire was not running I averaged around 69 FPS on pretty high settings.
If I could create another game it would be something like Baldurs Gate 1& 2. I haven't played a game since that I thought even came close though I think people have tried. I haven't played NWN2 yet so maybe that will come close.
