-try aliens versus predator (go with gold edition).. I played it as a kid and it scared me few times and still has great multiplayer, the sequel is not scary at all.. it's more story driven game with slow MP
-then you can try silent hill series as people here pointing out, but only the first one was actually scary (and you have to play it via emulator) and interesting the rest is quite boring and has only scary moments, like all survival horror games (which are actually no horrors at all) but one...
...called "the thing" best one around btw.. resident evil is not worth it anymore as you most probably saw movies..
-if you want great story go with Undying it's fine and if you want a shooter.. well I like Jericho more then FEAR
just remeber the key.. you have to create enviroment which simulates empty hangar in nevada desert at 2am with dolby surround 7+1, that's right.. this elevate those games I mentioned into a completely new level..
