I'm sure this has already been mentioned, but NES - SNES was actaully a much bigger leap than you think. The smallest leap was probably N64 - Gamecube. Because of this, all the rest of your post is completely invalid. PC games are generally lazy ports of console games, so enjoy the extra 3 dust particles, mods that make online impossible to play, inferior WSAD keys, less technical innovation ala Wii U Controller and the thousands of dollars you've dropped on something that's just going to need replacing in 3 - 4 years max.

I think the main issue is that all the games are crappy minigames that wouldn't be caught dead as full retail games anywhere else. This is why facebook and flash games are popular. There's 0 good games on ios. There may be fun ones like cut the rope and fruit ninja, but they're still just minigames that have no lasting value. You can't control any worthwhile games on ios, so don't use it for gaming. Get a real game system, for a handheld, definitely get the 3DS although if I were you, I'd wait for the next model of 3DS which should be out sooner rather than later.
