I have a post to make here, but I will also post in my blog

"Just Wait"...on the other foot?

Many people say to PS3 fanboys mocking them that they have to wait for the big titles while they are playing the big games. With the recent E3, this statement now goes toward those with baised for the Wii.

PS3 and 360 have been getting a good amount of huge name hits. Grand Theft Auto IV just came on both platforms and got a 10 here at GS. PS3 owners just got treated with MGS4, also which received a 10 here. The games are defining what we know about games and making strives toward innovation. You could argue this with Super Mario Galaxy, but the game makes hardly any use of the Nintendo's main future...motion control.

The innovation, instead of making games that push the boundries, is to make games that people unwilling to learn button controls can be able to play. For the hardcore games, Nintendo just slaps many control options to play the games, none of them really do anything different than last time. Innovation with the controller was done with Zack and Wiki, where is Nintendo's version of this game?

Now Nintendo gives us features that were already standard on the other two platforms: internet play (only one done decently was Mario Kart Wii) and voice chat (welcome to 2002). They failed to address any real issues with us Wii owners like "With Wiiware, is there a way I can hold more games?", "Is there going to be a price drop anytime soon", and "What is next in store for the big named franchises?". Instead, they tell us we should have been contented with what was shown at E3 instead of the usual "we have big things in store".

Listen, G4 is meant for gamers...not some retail store. If there was games on the horizon, such as the rumored Pikmin 3, he would have said something. Reggie telling G4 that AC and GTA: China Town for the DS is hardcore, that means there is nothing planned to be soon. The list Nintendo gave us was up until Summer of 2009. It might be true that Mario and Zelda is being worked on, but it is not coming anytime soon. For a game to be coming soon, it has to have screens and videos to get the gaming community excited and Nintendo obviously has none of this.

The PS3 has shown they have a big list planned for later. Resistance 2 and LittleBigPlanet is this year, while Killzone 2 and INFAMOUS is next year. We don't know much about MAG and GoW3 which will obviously be shown next year. 360 has the new Banjo on 360 and remake on XBLA. Fable 2, Too Human, and Gears 2 is coming this year, and there will be many new games planned for 2009 next E3. The third party supports PC, PS3, and 360 since many huge games are on it such as Mirror's Edge, Far Cry 2, and more.

What about the Wii? None of the huge 3rd party titles are coming out. The third party just for the Wii actually does look interesting this year. They have to make up for Nintendo's lack luster showing. Wii Sports Resort isn't even this year. All we get from them is Wario 2D (why isn't a WiiWare game...in fact where were the WiiWare games in E3?), Animal Crossing (ok game, but nothing huge), and Mario Sluggers (I already played baseball in Wii Sports...pass). This means no time near will be the new Kirby Wii game or F-Zero. They are planned for late 09...great.

Including the big release of Soul Caliber IV this month, 360 and PS3 owners will be busy with many games. Wii owners have hardly anything this summer or fall to play. They will be the ones waiting instead of the cows. So if you see a sheep, say "just wait" to him and laugh.

Let's look at the first party list for 08 that Nintendo gave IGN...

Animal Crossing and Wario

Real great library...at this rate new Mario and Zelda in 2012 when I will be done with gaming entirely. That is if Zelda doesn't get delayed for 5 years like the last one. The most important new first party game we were promised since the launch was SSBB...which was delayed again and again! SMG was suppose to come out at launch, SSBB was suppose to come out summer of last year, Super Paper Mario was moved from GC to Wii...same with Kirby (still MIA)...Zelda was ported to make quick cash. The only game Nintendo didn't mess up was Mario Kart Wii. Oh yeah...Metroid 3 was suppose to be a launch title.

Wow, looking back at this...Home, KZ2, and LBP delays don't seem as bad!

Have you looked at the 3rd party offerings lately? Some of it's not bad.

GundamGuy0

MadWorld, Conduit

Third party is doing a better job of giving us games than first party so far...

Nintendo did have a pre-rendered trailer...Mario Kart Wii last year folks.

I thought you wouldn't be so quick to make false information.

Last year I was sadden by Wii Fit, but they showed off hardcore games at least (Zelda:PH and Mario Kart...announced SSBB delay...announced SMG release date). Nintendo is progressively getting worse.

The thing about a new Zelda or Mario is that without a video or even a screenshot it is just a rumor.

Yes, the conferences were about trying to get stores to buy many games, but this time is for showing off your games. You can act like little kids believing Nintendo when they talk about Santa Clause...I mean Pikmin, I will be playing games.

The main thing I was sad from MS is no worth while new IPs were announced, it was just more information on games we already knew were coming. Also no new HDD with cheaper price or a price cut on them to support Netflex was stupid.

The list is making 360 be like PS3, and I rather keep the two consoles different. The thing I like Sony doing is showing us things we haven't seen on games we knew was coming out such as Resistance 2 and iNFAMOUS. Overall though, this E3 was lacking in any new big game to hype that wasn't 3rd party (like Mirror's Edge)

Nintendo's for many reasons

1) Kirby Wii was announced for 08...F-Zero name revealed...nothing about either 2 was mentioned.

2) Saying new Mario and Zelda for DS/Wii is like saying the sky is blue, we wanted to see what direction the games are going in. Word of mouth isn't enough.

3) Wii Music has no point whatsoever...at least Wii Fit makes you healthy.

4) The big 3rd party titles such as MadWorld get no mention whatsoever, even by name. None of them is placed in the future release list. No More Heroes had this issue...it sold badly. Nintendo is trying to keep creativity under wraps.

You think Nintendo secretly has all your franchises working? Well, let's just see what they say....

"Well, of course I worked on both 1080 and Wave Rave, so on the one hand I think it's very difficult for me to say, but I think that form in which we present the snowboarding game [in Wii Fit] and the power cruising game in Wii Sports Resort is something that's going to appeal to a much broader audience."

No 1080 or Wave Race! They rather appeal to casuals!

"There really isn't anything to talk about right now so I don't know how to reply, said Miyamoto. "I am friends with Mr. Itoi [Earthbound creator] and meet with him several times a year. If we got together and decided we wanted to make something, it wouldn't take too long for him to start working on something."

No plans to do anything with Earthbound!

Then again, Reggie did say Animal Crossing was hardcore and should be enough for us Nintendo fans...so I have faith in the company!

People get mad at sony for showing games that won't be out for 3 years... then get upset when Nintendo doesn't do just that. GundamGuy0

Kirby Wii was confirmed to be out this year, but it wasn't shown or placed on the 2008 release list. Why don't they even show the game off in the conference or at least tell us about the game?

At least last year Nintendo announced the SSBB delay. Why didn't they do it this year?

Oh yeah, they rather focus on a rythm game that doesn't have a score or progress. Yippie!

It's one thing to try to keep a nice image for the press and it is another to completely bury games because they don't fit a certain image. I had to find out about MadWorld from other people, it wasn't in any Wii future game release list. They focus on the third party that fits into the mold. What about Blast Works and Boom Blox...weren't they good third party games? Nintendo doesn't care about us hardcore gamers anymore, you have to accept it.
