Damn, MadWorld looks awesome. The problem with Nintendo is that they are burying the games that look interesting to play.

I could care less about score, if it innovates the platform genre...I will get it. We can always use more platformers this gen that aren't Ninja Breadman.

[QUOTE="NAPK1NS"]

[QUOTE="thrones"]Super Mario 64 is the best 3D platformer.DeathScape666

No way. Banjo had bigger, more open levels, better visuals, better originality, better music (yeah, I said it) and better gameplay/level design. This is all my opinion, but I stand by it.

No, Banjo Kazooie wasn't all that original. It introduced a lot of new ideas, but Super Mario 64 was still way more original than it. Banjo Kazooie basically ripped off Super Mario 64.

Here are my favorite 3D platformers of all time:

1. Super Mario Galaxy (9.9)

2. Banjo Tooie (9.7)

3. Banjo Kazooe (9.5)

4. Jak III (9.2)

5. Jak II (9.1)

6. Donkey Kong 64 (8.9)

7. Super Mario 64 (8.5)

8. Super Mario Sunshine (7)

9. Vexx (6)

10. Glover (2)

Just saying those games ruined whatever arguments you had.

It is easily (in no order)

SMG, Sly Cooper 2, Ratchet and Clank:UYA, Super Mario 64, Sonic Adventure 2, Klonoa 2, Banjo-Tooie, Jak and Daxter, Conker's Bad Fur Day, and Banjo-Kazooie

It can be messed around, but the Jak series is grossly overrated.

B-K is great, but Sly Cooper and the Thievious Raccoon had better characters IMO. I can't say what is the best though, alot of platformers are still better than the best FPS/strategy/sports game IMO.

Right here, seriously I can tell your one but where are the hardcore platform gamers? Smg greatest platformer of all time, wth are you people talking about I mean its good but I bet you haven't played enough to make that decision. I'm not saying I know it all when it comes to platformers but I'm pretty big on them and it and rpgs are my favourite genres (though of course this gen you find your self playing alot of shooters and a couple of racers more than anything. Its not that I dont like them, GoW is a hell of alot of fun and I'm alot better at shooters because of this gen but still...

Rayman 1 and 2, Spyro 1-3, crash bandicoot 1, all the wariolands and not forgeting Jet set radio future. Well thats my personal fav (I wish they were gonna make another, fake tgs list=:cry:) Im not saying those are the best platformers ever but they were great for their time and tbh Im sure Id know even more great platformers if I had been around for the previous gen. Then smg comes out and some sheep shout its the best platformer ever, no offence but for the majority of you who said that you haven't played enough for the rest and yes there I know there were some people who said that who knew what they were talking about fairs enough, it is a very innovative and fun game.

This post summary: Omg I miss all those platforming series

proud722

SMG is the best platformer to date...but best of all time? Not really

Platforming is one interesting genre. SMB pushed it forward, but then games such as Jet Grind Radio, Rayman, Spyro, Crash, Klonoa, Mario, and Sonic to all come from it. Next generation gave us updates, plus Sly, Jak, and Ratchet. Platformers really depended on diversity to help move it forward. While SMG does perfect the elements, it is not innovative. This time we have games like Crush, Fez, and Echochrome changing our views on what a platformer can be. Changing your point of view in a platformer is the new innovation and I can't wait until one game that fully uses this can be made.

Seems like this has enough new content to warrent a remake. I guess I will rent it when it comes out. Also, about time Nintendo release the legendaries we couldn't legitly get early on.

The only one I see half-way interesting is Viva Pinata. I hope E3 doesn't stink as much as last year...

It is a bit overrated, but there is worse offenders. FF7 is my vote for most overrated game.
