I'm an exclusive FPS & racing fan, but I really dig this game. I hate all of that WoW and Hammer garbage. I also didn't enjoy Empire Total War or Civilization IV, that crap belongs in the trash can as far as I'm concerned... uninstalled in ten minutes.

So I don't know exactly what I'm looking for here. I really like the aspect of building my town/army up from scratch like they do with AoE. The gameplay is very entertaining, so I was wondering if anyone else knew of any games that followed this same kind of formula? If not, that's cool, just recommend something along these lines that I would consider fun.

Thanks ;D

For those of you defending the gameplay, I thought it sucked almost as much as the overall physics... but that's EA for ya'... providing us with months & months of marketing for a game that has nothing great going for it except graphics... but it's 2009 so great graphics are expected. The basic interaction with other humans & objects was not NEAR as in-depth as Bethesda's games (for instance).

The feeling I got while playing was an arcade-like sensation... which I despise. I was feeling rushed throughout each mission. For the hype, the overall quality & finished product just didn't meet my expectations, and the game was uninstalled by the third mission. Just too corny for me (the storyline was lame as well).

And the AI was NOT as smart as someone stated before me. Even on Delta, those morons were extremely easy to kill. The only thing that one might consider difficult was the fact that there were so many enemies to deal with in the first place... kinda reminded me of the old school Area 51 arcade machine, just with better graphics.

Compared to other FPS, I give it a 2/10.

Spending more than $500-600 for a desktop in a time like this would be asinine to say the least.

I recently built one almost from scratch, and with the finished product including a 22" LCD, the total came to about $500... there are great deals on parts out there, you just have to search/be patient.

2 at a time (3 including dogmeat). But with mods, you can have as many followers as your PC can handle

Jekken6

Damn, well it told me I could only have one follower at a time. -.-

I remember there being...hm...six in total, plus a certain dog, but you can only have one (or was it two?) followers at a time.

Planeforger

Yeah you can only have one. Spoiler alert: do you know their locations? because I rushed through the game the first time and I just know I skipped a bunch of crap.

There is a binder software, xPadder, it binds keyboard keys to the gamepad. Basically, you can activate the controller in any game.

LGTX

How does this work exactly? I installed xPadder a couple weeks ago, and quit caring before I figured it out.

You can use a controller with any PC game.

-Unreal-

Well I have a generic controller, yet apparently my GTA4 is only compatible with the 360 controller... huge bummer, because playing with the keyboard and mouse is unbearable.

I'm not only new to PC gaming, but the COD games as well, yet here's my $.02:

This game is awesome. I played the first level of singleplayer, and got bored so jumped right into multiplayer and started unlocking crap left and right. I started playing two days ago, and I'm already a Captain (level 38 I believe). I will definitely be playing a lot in the near future, so hit me up... m0rdoth is my gt and I'm usually on the "Weekend Warriors" server.

I definitely gotta' get COD4.
