Well, really you shouldn't decide which game is better months before the other is released. Second, one game mechanic and big maps makes a game awesome? =S Have you played the other Gears of War games? And why is this suddenly a big battle? Just because they're both 3rd person?

Depends, if want to talk about an epic game like UC2 then go ahead. But if you want to bash the 360, I wouldn't do that here. =)
If you were a Jak fan, then Daxter is an amazing game, my personal favourite game on PSP thus far. I haven't gotten around to GOW or MGS though. List seems pretty accurate as to what games to start with. I started with a similar list.
Viva Pinata
The Saboteur
Pure
Bad Fur Day
No More Heroes
Zoo Tycoon
[QUOTE="DecadesOfGaming"][QUOTE="i-rock-socks"]i didnt create this thread for financial advice why i bought them is irrelevant and how much i payed is irrelevant if you think games being too pricey affects the amount of games you own then create a post to that effect dont assume everyone cares about price or moneyi-rock-socks
HILARIOUS.. LOL.. You throw cash away like a ten year old, then get all defensive when someone makes a valid point..LOL.. Make an appointment to see a financial advisor..Perhaps an accountant also..learn how to take advice too.. LOL
hilarious... you think ur advice is warranted or good and as for being defensive... lol i was simply stating facts if money is that big of an issue for you then stop posting and get more money, stop wasting your time insulting someone for ignoring ur stupid adviceSimply had to add to this:
I agree this thread is not for financial advice, and second a gamer (maybe just an insane gamer, like me) would sink money into games even if I was homeless on the street and my only possession was say, an original GameBoy. Gaming is our passion, some of us have little else. Get a life? My life is gaming. =)
I'm about the same, I used to be a total perfectionist when it comes to gaming, but then I learned how long it takes to unlock every achievement, or even attain the highest class in multiplayer (Halo:Reach, mostly). Plus sinking a few hundred hours of multiplayer into Reach caused for me to miss out on a load of games I am still trying (and failing) to complete. At some point you have to admit defeat and decide that only the games that are awesome through and through (for me that's open-world action adventures a la GTA) are alloted hundreds of hours of game time, while the rest get a single playthrough and possibly and achievement run or maybe just a second run to relive the highs and lows, but that's about it. After that, you just have to put it down and move on.
I would like to throw in another question though. When are you complete a RTS like Viva Pinata? There isn't any real ending, and the second one (which I have only begun to play this weekend) has much harder achievements than the first. Is the goal still unock all achievements and (in-game) awards? It's so hard to know when I'm done with these games.
One question, is there anyreal difference between the console version and the PC version (outside of graphics and controls, of course)?
I would make entirely original games, though strangely familiar. See, I think that we should make a very typical first personshooter (WWII) with typical graphics and gameplay mechanics, customizable appearance, guns, perks, etc.
But then... Nazis. Not just Nazis, but you ARE the Nazi. We could slowly erase (or at least make people contemplate) the Nazi stereotype. Perhaps the story could be a little deeper than normal, perhaps we have humble beginnings, growing up on a farm somewhere in the country, but get pulled into the Reich by a family member who is a supporter of Hitler. The missions would play out very similarto any past WWII shooter, showing the most famous battles, but we show that as the Allies march forward the Allied forces are pulled away. And in the end? You die. You die because that's the only fitting way to end the game. You can't become one of the Nazis that fade back into the German or Fench community, you die a painfulbloody death (I was thinking along the lines of the end of MW2, with say a knife in the abdomen, maybe an explosion rips off a leg or an arm, something like that).
Or maybe a little crazier, you play as HITLER Of course, instead of a WWII FPS, that would be an Real Time Strategy game. It would be an epic return for Hitler to video games, much better than his role in Wolfenstein 3D.
Anyway, that's just ONE of my insane ideas, definitely not fleshed out to the extent that I would have liked, but I hope you all liked it. input would be appreciated. Thank you!
Many people who own a PC, 360 and PS3, or even just a PC and PS3 seem to be choosing the PS3 version over all else, why?
Is it perhaps the idea that one can buythe PS3 version, gain access to the PC version of the game and then sell it? Is that even possible or is the Steam version somehow tied to the disc?
And if you only want the PS3 disc to play the PC version, why bother with the PS3 version at all?
Second, is there any content available on PC that isn't available on consoles at release?
Sorry for all of these questions, I'm just contemplating which version to buy and I'm confuzzled as to why I shouldn't buy the 360 version as I normally buy my cross-platform games there...
Any response is appreciated!
I have a backlog of just over 10 games on 360 and PS3. My PC backlog has yet to begin. Wi... meh. If I start buying some games for that thing, it will automatically become a backlog...
My problem is Halo Reach multiplayer. The disc has been in my system for a month now. Damn Bungie and their addicting DailyChallenges.
In general multiplayer is a problem for me. How can you say you've finished a game if you haven't touched the multiplayer? Even if you played it for a weekend, are you really done? Perhapsreaching the highest rank is completion. But let's analyze this. The highest rank in Halo Reach is achieved by earning 20 million credits. I believe I've reached around 3 million credits, since release (day one purchase). Now, took roughly 6 months this means that to play this game to completion, one would have to play for over 3 years! I haven't played it religiously, but I have sunk a few hundered hours into it. Already, this seems impossible. Perhaps the multiplayer component should not be included... But, what about games that are entirely multiplayer (MAG!)?
Regardless, my backlog needs to disappear, QUICK. The deals out there are quite amazing, but look at the upcoming games! How can I pass up Crysis 2 (and I stillneed to purchase the first game), L.A. Noire and the multitude of PS3 trilogies (tomb Raider, Splinter Cell, etc.)being released?
