Apparantly the staff listing is outdated; several editors have new titles or have moved on, from what I was told.

Thank you,

Boz

I was told by user Thraxen that this page listing th Gamespot editorial staff is outdated. Is there an updated location for this information and, if not, might this page be updated in the near future?

Thank you all,

Boz

In this user's opinion, a dedicated sound card is only worth the cost if:

1 - You have poor or outdated onboard audio

2 - You use a multichannel or surround-sound system like Dolby Digital

3 - You are an audiophile

4 - You play an instrument and need the dedicated card for inputs/outputs

5 - You have high quality speakers

6 - You need a gaming port (applies only to certain models)

In the end, none of the above matters if you cannot tell the difference. Find a store with a good return policy, but the dedicated card, install it, and if you cannot tell the difference, return it.

Happy gaming,

Boz

Frankie, dude, Linux is an OS. Visit www.ubuntu.com, download the software for the live CD, burn the live CD, boot from the CD, and follow the instructions. You will need to partition your drive to install the second OS, but you will be able to boot into either Windows or Linux afterwards.

Best of luck.

I'm looking to clear some desk clutter, but every wireless keyboard out there seems to be sold bundled with a mouse. I'm already looking to get a Logitech G7 Mouse, but I only need a basic, quality wireless keyboard.

Any suggestions?

At normal viewing distances, the improvement of 1080p over 720p is not really noticeable until you're up in the 40"s to 50"s range. So unless you're also using this aquos as a monitor on your desk, and you're viewing it from a foot or two away, it's not worth it.dmanrevived

I second his statement.

Since nobody else is answering your question: It is impossible for the human eye to discern a difference in video between 1080i and 1080p on screen sizes 42" or smaller. Regular HDTV - 720p or 1080i - is not discernable from standard definition on screen sizes below 27". This is assuming the viewer is sitting a normal distance from the TV for viewing video.

That being said, consumers using 42" screens or smaller as PC monitors might want 1080p for the additional resolution.

I have read this in a number of forums and articles, seen it in practice myself, and can confirm the SDTV vs. HDTV from my time working for Circuit City.

No I dont have a computer at my job. I do real work.HillyBilly

 I love it. I assume by "real work" you mean manual labor. Well, even if you don't have a computer today, you will someday. Even the grease monkey that inspect cars, the flatfoot that patrols the streets, and the guy at the checkout counter have to use computers on the job. It's only a matter of time before we're all plugged in!
