I think it would be safe to say that Counter Strike, Call of Duty and Unreal Tournament are the biggest for their respective type/style... prersonally I would go with Call of Duty (UO or 2) as you can play deatmatch and team deathmatch.

F.E.A.R... and I was not feared (ur... afraid!) kind of a waste of time really. The game lacks that 'X' factor! I will play the expansion and then make my final judgement on F.E.A.R.

In light of many of the posts here... how important is the mouse pad or surface you use for your mouse? Is it worth it buying gaming mouse pads?

As I mentioned I have a G5 mouse. I regularly 'polish' the bottom pads with furniture polish to keep it as smooth as possible, I then use the smoothest surface I can find for the mouse to move on (which I 'polish' as well) The easier it glides.. the better it feels and plays. Please note that I have to monitors connected so I have twice as much monitor to cover during non-gaming time (video editing and graphic design)

I agree fully! I think games would become cheaper if more people bought them and less people cracked them!

Here is a topic to debate: should GameSpot members add cracked games which they 'own' to their GameSpot game collection or only games which they have either the disc for or have purchsed the download online?  Let me know what you think!

And if you are brave enough, why not let the world know how many cracks you have currently on your PC! (I hope GameSpot won't file a report on you!)

Keep it real... say no to cracks! (and I don't mean pull up your jeans!)

Hi, just been to your site and it sure does need some graphics and images to bring your idea to life. It is a real great idea and highlights the impact that gaming has on our culture and families.

I run a graphic design company (PointBlunt Productions) and gaming site (Noize.com.na) and I can help with some graphics for you, if we can come up with a banner exchange arrangement. Drop me a PM with your email or contact me via email (see my profile for details) and let me know if you are interested!

Regards and all the best for your site!

Thanks to everyone for responding to this question concerning gaming grade gear. I am doing research for an article on a website I administrate and am glad to get great input from 'real' gamers and not just words from suppliers or product 'specialists'.

Check out Noize.com.na for the article and at the same time, your one visit will help gaming in Namibia - Africa.

Thanks once again... oh and feel free to keep giving your ideas on this topic as I will be doing updates on the topic on Noize!

The tag somes it up, "Hell, it's about time!", just finished reading the outline of the game play and strategy, this game is going to rock! Now they just must give a release date and stick to it!

Yeah true, there have been games that have tried in the past, but I think technology held them back from realy doing a good job of it. Now with all the new PC rig and gear like DX10, games are going to look way more realistic and have totally new game play features purely because of processing power. I just hope that StarCraft 2 will be both DX9.c and DX10... otherwise it will be time for a new PC and that will me forking oput a huge sum... again!
