People if he was so wrong about the controls, and then corrected his mistake, why didnt they change the score? Because the game is still not that great regardless of the controls , stop grasping on the conrtol mistake aspect. Like everyone else I havent played the game but am not suprised that it is not that good, nintendo has been going down the gutter all gen, except for a few gems. Worst console ever released IMO.

[QUOTE="BrunoBRS"][QUOTE="campzor"] i wasted money on RDR the most boring POS ever and that got praised to the moon. I guess everyone who gave it 9 and 10s are misinforming me.nitekids2004

i could care less about the score. tom's review is wrong in its content. he played the game wrong and judged it on that. it's like playing a console FPS with a broken second analog. did you read RDR's reviews? did they sound like your cup of tea? if so, sorry, but if you read enough reviews and watch enough videos, you'll probably have a good idea of what the game is about and how it plays. i'm not a fan of uncharted, i find it obscenely overrated, but the reviews still describe it as exactly what it is: a summer blockbuster in the form of a videogame. a whole lot of cover based shooting, some platforming and some few, stupidly easy puzzles.

Aside from the unresponsive controls. What else is wrong with the review?

I listed a few cons a page back. Can you tell me which are not really present in the game?

1. Unimaginative fetch quests
2. Vast Empty Landscape
3.Boring dungeonsbacktracking
4. Camera angle is sometimes bad
5. Framerate dips

1. Yeah, Zelda's had some of those.

2. The only vast empty landscape I've heard anything about really is the overworld/sky, which I thought was done on purpose to keep things simple when you want to get from place to place rather than travelling forever.

3. Pretty sure even in his review he said the dungeon design was some of the best he's seen in any Zelda. And backtracking, when done right, can be a good thing. In TP, you play through a dungeon and that's it. You'll never go back there again unless there some hidden collectable. In SS, once you get further in the game, you go back to previous places and entirely new places open up whether it be because of a new item or something else. Don't get me wrong, some backtracking in games is terrible (some of the Metroid Prime games are guilty of this), but this is the first review I've read that really said it was horrible.

4. I've really yet to have a game where the camera is always perfect. SMG2 got a 10 here and I despised the camera at times.

5. Also haven't heard this, but is this really that big of an issue? Skyrim has some HUGE glitches at times and it doesn't make me hate the game or even think that it's really that worse.

Just my opinions of course.

[QUOTE="ActionRemix"][QUOTE="Krelian-co"]

this says it all

nitekids2004

Fanboys voting with their heart and not experience with the game.

/sigh

Sometimes, you really can't blame reviewers when they're afraid of giving proper scores tofranchise games.

I don't understand how whe GS gives a lower-than-average score on a pretty well-received game, then that makes it a "proper" review or an "honest" review. Every other site loved it, but since GS gave it a lower score, they obviously know something that every single other site doesn't. Not saying they couldn't be right, but since this game is receiving almost the same reviews TP had (which I also really enjoyed), I'm thinking this one will be a damn good game too.

Really happy to see Portal 2 up there. It's been my favorite game so far this year so far (haven't played much Skyrim and SS will be out soon), so I'm glad it's getting some recognition.

[QUOTE="TrapJak"]

I'm sad that I missed the TP reaction. But I guess this reaction will have to do....

heretrix

This reaction is pretty mild compared to TP. It was a sad display of.....jeez I don't know, I've never seen anything like that.

All I know it wasn't good.

At least for me, I trusted pretty much all of the reviews that GS wrote back then, so when TP was given an 8.8, I expected it to be not as good. TP ended up being my favorite game that year (yes, better than both Oblivion and Gears 1), so really from that point on I look at every review from GS, whether good or bad, as "oh, that's nice" and check out what the majority of critics/gamers are saying.

Tom said the Zelda formula is stale. I played a couple games of MW3 and was already pretty bored since it was pretty much exactly the same as previous games, but for that they went with the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" response. I'm not saying I don't want new additions/improvements to Zelda games, but change too much and it's not really a Zelda game anymore. It's like how none of us really consider Mario Party/Golf/Tennis/etc. as a Mario game since they're so different. It's just weird watching GS's review since it seemed to praise it a good amount, but GT's review really seemed to just crap all over it, but the scores that I expected for each site was flipped. GS said it was fun, but since it's familiar, that makes it not as good. All I know is on gamerankings, GS's the only site to give SS less than an 8, and 17 out of the 21 reviews so far gave it at least a 9. I still can't for this game, and I'm going to guess that I'll enjoy it even more than Skyrim.

So far it's Portal 2, but I've only played a couple hours of Skyrim and I fully expect Skyward Sword to be up there as well.

Sadly I don't think even buying 3 copies would matter. The Tales games don't really get that much sales outside of Japan; sadly it seems any JRPG not named Final Fantasy gets passed over by the masses.

Chaos_HL21

Which is really a shame considering how amazing Vesperia was. Too bad that it's not coming out on Wii or 360, which are the two systems I have, but oh well. I do hope it does well because these games really are amazing.

Wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait...are you seriously telling me that I need to spend ten whole seconds swapping the disc a whopping two times throughout the entire game!?!? Well I'm certainly not getting it now :roll:
