First Day of School

Today was the first day of my last year of school. I'm in the 12th grade. :D

My mom wanted me to start early this year, since I only do four day weeks. So we get three day weekends. :)

We also get two weeks off this Fall, to use in either September or October, so that'll be good.

I hope to go to the state meusum and Fort Sumter as field trips too.

The Entertainment Pop Culture Quiz 2

I've deicided to make another quiz for you all to take. I've come up with new questions and the correct answer for each one.

But do you know what it is?

Here you go. Good luck. :D

And don't forget to comment on your score.

Song of the Day

Today's song of the day is a good one, I thinks. By the huge popular band Areosmith, and one of their greatest hits, I Don't Want to Miss A Thing. This has appeared in the movie Armageddon and it what made the sound-track for the movie such a hit. Enjoy.

Level up!

I've finally got to level 17 and got rid of the Church Lady emblem! Now it's The Crazy Neighbor. Not as bad as Church Lady, but still a little weird.

Not much else to say, right now.

Hey, I know. Does anyone play, has played The Lord of the Rings Online before? I'm curious. I have a character in the game, and I've been playing for a while. Nice thing is that each person's character has their own page on the LotRO website. For example, here's mine.

http://my.lotro.com/character/arkenstone/brodoin/

If you look in the bottom left you'll see I've reached level 35, but for some reason the whole thing won't update. I'm not level 28, and I have all different items, different armour, and different weapons. I wish it'd update sometime soon, it's been almost a month since I was level 28.

Anyway, it's a fun game. It's an MMO so you have to pay to play, but it's worth it. I think it is much better than World of Warcraft.

By the way, some good news. I've been submitting more, and I've been having more accepts than denies. I still think the editor is a little harsh, but at least I'm getting points.

Song of the Day

A lesser known band by the name of The Steve Miller Band, with their lead, you guessed it, Steve Miller. Dispite being less known than other bands, they have had some #1 hit songs. Here's one of their hit songs.

1239? Still?

I'm just making this "mini blog" because I've noticed that my Profile Views has been 1239... forever. To be honest, I don't really mind how many times people have looked in my profile and read about me, or my blogs, but it just seems weird. It's been 1239 since before the big change, if I remember right, and if you know what I mean. (I'm sure some longer members will)

Anyway, I think it's a glitch on me or something. I don't even know if the Profile views still work anymore. I'd think by now I'd have at least 4000-5000 views. But I don't know, just weird.

My aunt got me a new game that just came out the other day. Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings. :D :D :D :D

I've been waiting for almost two years for this game! I'm excited to finally have it!

To to wrap this up with the Song of the Day.

I know I just had this song on my last music blog the other day, but I've been listening to it alot lately. I need to buy it on iTunes. I think the singer has a good voice.

Lights - Journey

I think I'll put on some Steve Miller on my next blog. The Steve Miller Band is in my top 10 favourites.

Submission... denied Submission... denied Submission............. denied

I've been trying to get some points by submiting quotes to Star Wars: The Clone Wars, but my quotes keep getting denied! The editor says it's because they are so-so, or need more in it, but what else is there?! It's a quote, for the quote trivia, does it really need much context or need to be memorable? JusticeLeaguer is kind of a harsh editor.

In fact, I'm getting my quotes from StarWars.com, itself! Even the memorable quote section! I want to level up and get points and maybe be a top contributer, but if my subs are denied, how could I?

Let me ask for you opinion, do you think the following quote is good enough to be accepted?

Anakin Skywalker: (about attacking gundark) "Jump in any time!"
Obi-Wan Kenobi: "Oh, you're doing fine. She seems to like you."
Anakin Skywalker: "Yeah. Lucky me!"

It was denied because, and I quote: "Thanks again, but more context is needed in order for this quote to make sense."

I don't see how I am able to give more context in the quote. There is nothing said before, or after in that scene, nothing said by Anakin or Obi-Wan, anyway. How would I get that in?

Also, here's another one:

Wat Tambor: "General Windu! Perhaps we can come to a compromise."
Mace Windu: "Not when I hold all the cards."

I thought that was a good quote, it was short, but I have no idea how to give it more context.

I wish the Star Wars editor would be more accepting of submissions. A quote is a quote, what else do you need?

That 60's 70's 80's and on Music Blog Show!

Just for the record, this isn't a show or game of any type, I just wanted to have "show" at the end of my title to have a mini parady of That 70's Show. :P

Anyway, since I'm pretty sure I've made a blog or two about my favourite bands, I thought this time I'd make one for my favourite songs. These will include some of my Song of the Day songs, but still, they're all good. I'll cut my talking short and get stright to the music. :D

And I'm not saying you all have to listen to every song, but I'll be glad to know if anyone did take the time to do so. :)
But just listen to any song that strikes out at you. Enjoy, my friends. :D

I have several, and I mean several, favourite songs, so the following are a list of all the ones I listen to the most, to the point where I can sing the whole thing solo. I love them all. But if I were to put them all, I'd have far, far too many. So here's a taste of the songs I like.

First up, two of my favourite songs from The Who

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bosFYF8NUM Us and Them

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKe-KrAs-xw Comfortably Numb

Finally, let's put in a few songs that are just random songs I like.

June 6, 1944

Today marks the 65th annivarsary of the D-Day Normandy landings in World War 2. Where over 150,000 Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy in France against 380,000 Axis troops waited for them, and fought in a bloody battle. It is estimated that over 10,000 Allied troops died in the battle, and 4,000-9,000 Axis troops died as well. It may have been an Allied victory, and one of the most famous battles of the war, but it came at a great cost of men.

I, myself, is not really into the government or anything, I just don't really care, but I do care about the men and women who are killed in wars, especially some wars that don't even need to happen. "War is hell." Those words will always be true.

Here now I believe everyone should take a moment of silence. Not for the Allied victory, nor the Axis defeat, but for those sons, brothers, and fathers who died in the battle.

Also, please take a moment of silence for those Axis men who died. They may have been the enemy then, but, just like the Allied soldiers, they were simply following orders.

Ask yourself, was that Axis soldier truly bad? Was he evil at heart, like Hitler was? He may have just been a farm boy in over his head, simply wishing he'll survive to return home to his family.

Thank you for reading. I hope I've got you thinking.

I will be skipping the Song of the Day today.

The best video game trailer... ever

I've been watching E3 this week, which is, by the way, a huge video game expo were all the new huge games and new systems are announced. It was where everything is announced, from the PS2 to the Wii. It's just a awesome things about everything that is video game.

Anyway, on to why that's my title. I watched something yesterday, something that blew my mind. Something that was epic, no doubt, epic. It was the best trailer I have ever seen for a new video game, as of now. And I'm not just saying that because it's Star Wars. This is the first trailer for the game. Star Wars The Old Republic. A new Star Wars MMORPG (Massivlly-multiplayer Online Role playing game.) This game has sold me. Nothing will stop me from getting this game now. It's like a movie trailer it's so good! Check it out!

*shivers* Gives me goosebumps just watching it again. :D :D :D :D

Song of the Day

This song is by the famous band The Who. Who, after over 40 years, and two member lost, are still rocking and playing. Truely one of the best rock bands of all time.

My Generation - The Who

Do you remember the SEGA Genisis?

Does anyone remember the old SEGA Genisis? My dad was cleaning up in our garage this morning and he found our old SEGA. And the best part is, it still works!!! I hooked up in my room and I've been playing old games. I think it's a great way to remember old times as a child when I played it then. I remember playing a football game with my dad back when we first got it. Good times. :)

I also found several of our old games we had. My favourite is Jurassic Park. Based, of course, on the movie. When I started playing it brough back my old memories of playing it when I was 7. Yes, I know it's a video game and not some old pictures or something, but all the same, it's great to play some games you played as a kid.

Another good game I've been playing is Golden Axe. Any of you heard of that? It's a real fun 2-D side-scroling game. And, of course, I've played Sonic.

Only bad thing is I found that three of the games, including my brothers' favourite, are no longer working and are broken. But we still have several others we're playing.

Speaking of video games, I'm finally getting and XBox. :D Not the XBox 360, mind you, just an old XBox. I'm also getting 11 games that are coming with it, including Destroy All Humans 2, Need for Speed Most Wanted, and From Russia With Love. Can't wait to play those too. Good week in video games for me. Yay. :D

Now, to finish this "video game" blog, I'll post the Song of the Day.

This one is a world famous song by the band Black Sabbath. It has one of the most memorable guitar rifts ever, and is said to be one of, if no the best heavy metal song of all time.

Iron Man - Black Sabbath

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54H5wuO7bdg

I AM IRON MAN!!!

Missing link fossil?/ One of the most amazing things in the animal kingdom!

Have any of you heard of the fossil that was recently discovered? I read they are trying to say it is some sort of missing long in the eveloution chain. Which I find hard to believe. Here's a picture.

Why don't think think it is some sort of extinct monkey or something? For that matter, why don't they seem to think it is possible that those "cave men" skulls are just an extinct species of ape? Just seems a little strange, I think.

Anyway, on to the amazing thing I said. Last night I was watching the Discovery Channel, and it show how some whales hunt, which is pretty amazing. It's called Bubble Netting, and they do it to catch fish and eat them. Here's a video I found on YouTube. Please watch. :D

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJvfjiCTvq4

I find it simply amazing. Nature is amazing. What do you think?

By the way, this blog was much longer before, the dang HTML thing kept saying "HTML Not Well Formed" when I checked everything along with my picture and links and it was fine. Darn thing.

Song of the Day

This time, I made sure to make this Song of the Day by a female artist. I wanted to show that guys a not the only ones who can make a great rock song. :D
