video blog 6

Vblog 6

some info related to it:

1- i think i'm getting better at this :D

2- i'm halfway through the sound recording.

3- during the "video PS", there's something on the wall close to my head. it's my diploma :D and close to it is the "trash basket", which is a much funnier pun in portuguese than it is in english :P

Mr. Demon Face haunting you in your nightmares.

game over man game over!!!!!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!

VACATIONS!!!!!

NO SCHOOL FOR MONTHS!!!!!!

TIME TO REST AND RECOVER EVERYTHING LOST THIS YEAR!!!!!!!

AND I'M SO TIRED I WON'T WRITE ANYTHING ELSE IN THIS BLOG!!!!!!!!

...

...

...

...

...

no, seriously, i'll not write anything else here. want a decent blog? come back in a few days

video blog #5

yep, out of nowhere, Vblog 5 is here! obviously i'll have to make a bunch of comments on it...

first comment: i'm not sure if i made it clear, but i wont be completely back until after the test (even though i have been quite active on the gamespot wii & DS boards)

second: my voice keeps changing during the video. i dont know why, but it does. at some point, it sounds like... well last time i said that word i got suspended on gamespot, so i wont say it. just forgive me for that attitude

third: i forgot the usual "forgive me, but talking to the camera makes me nervous and this is the only time i actually speak english, so it might not sound natural" >.> *watches again, hears "compeletely", shivers*

fourth: i know i should drop saying the F word, but i'm a "WTF addicted", so not even my blogs can stay without one

and last, but not least: i really mean it when i say it's hard to talk to a camera, locked alone in a room.

enjoy!

oh, and i made a new sig. definitely not the best work, but it looks fine, and i've been wanting to use that render in months.

and another edit to post a quick, not as high-quality as i wanted but at least without lag, tour in one of the most beautiful maps in cabal online *points at sig* BTW this is my "weak" character, i'll have a video with the other soon. yes i'm back playing it.

two weeks...

two weeks. 14 days. 336 hours. 20160 minutes. 1209600 seconds.

most people know what i've been suffering through this year. school 6 days a week (seven on the last 2 months), study morning, afternoon and night, no holidays, only one week to rest every 8 weeks of endless study.

in one week, i'll have a test. in two, i'll have THE test. the one that says "you can get in this university" or "you fail. do everything again. see you next year". and then, i can rest.

i can go back studying only 5 days a week (just until i finish all the subjects, just in case that *points at previous paragraph* doesnt turn out well), sleeping until late on saturdays, and, believe it or not, get back to my former activity.

coincidentally, i ordered Metroid Prime Trilogy AND The Beatles Rock Band, and they should both be coming right after THE test is over. and i still have to figure out what would be cheaper: guitar hero world tour with all instruments + guitar hero 5 or GH 5 with all instruments.

now there are a lot of games i'll try to get this holiday season, and right now those are the only ones available. yes, i want muramasa, but for some reason i can't find it on any release charts over here...

on other news, after finally getting all the light seeds in Prince of Persia, i decided to try the Xfire video recording tool. sure, there's no sound and it's a bit lagged, but it's still surprising, when compared to the other video recording tools... besides, Xfire uploads it for me :D

check my Xfire profile here for some nice prince of persia footage. please watch them :D. no i wont be joining the Xfire community. i'm not too much of a PC gamer so i wouldnt really fit there.

and for those who care, there's a nice new wallpaper on my images.

BrunoBRS resting on the spoony bard inn

video blog is up!

i would've uploaded on gamespot... if it wasnt glitched >_> so here's the youtube version:

Video Blog 4

please ignore the "teleportation" :P and BTW, since "TEH GAMING ROOM" got many changes after yesterday (we finally bought a full HD TV :D), i'll probably make ANOTHER video blog later :P

on not-found-on-the-video news, i beat TWEWY and am now beating for the second time (doing all the sidequests, to be more accurate. they give you important info on the story you didnt have before... not to mention you notice some stuff you didnt before).

also, i rented madworld. pretty nice beat'em up, if you dont mind the fact that there's more blood in the game than water in the ocean. will be returning it monday, when i'll try to get a nice PS3 game to test the new TV :P

and... hum... i guess that pretty much sums it up.

BrunoBRS constantly impaling over and over again bizarre-looking gladiators/ninjas/bandits

video blog!!!! wait not yet, i gotta record it first >_>

well, all i need for the video blog is

a) the camera must be at home

b) my parents must NOT be around

c) my brother must NOT be around

so if tomorrow i wake up before my brother does and after my parents leave, if they dont take the camera to work i'll probably manage to record the video blog :D

and another news is that i made yet another new sig (i also made a twilight princess one that even though i liked, didnt last a week >_>)

assassins creed 2 sig

BTW, i might not be as active for the next couple days. reason? school. "but i thought they had canceled school for the whole week!" [not really sure if i mentioned it on the blog or on forum posts :P but now you know] and it might be canceled for another (no news yet, just an hypothesis). but thing is, they uploaded tons of video-****s about the test i'm supposed to do at the end of the year, to see if i'll enter the university i want or if i'll have to do the whole senior year again (or half of it, if i pass during the winter). today i watched 8 portuguese ****s, and ended the subject. *quickly divides 128 by 3 and then by 4* it's a bit less than 1/4 of the total amount of ****s (3 books, 4 subjects each, 128 ****s in total).

and again, i ask you all kindly to join noobfeed.com. they're a small growing community, but it's hard for a growing community to... you know, grow, if nobody joins it.

the guys need more traffic to find people that want to advertise there (and therefore, maintain the site). just check the place (put it in your home page and wait for it to load if you really dont want to join) or better: think of it as one of your unions. one that talks about everything and allows you to have another blog/sig/banner :D

BrunoBRS expanding his world through other people

[yes i AM enjoying TWEWY :P]

The World Ends With You

ATTENTION: after dragonfly110 insisted alot, i joined noobfeed. for many different reasons, i decided i'd check there too. the guys are still small, but they're doing a great job. joining (and checking every once in a while, at least) would really help them :D this blog is a direct copy & paste from my blog there (wether i make the gamespot blog or the noobfeed blog first will depend on my mood :P). BTW i'm planning on making a video blog showing some nice stuff (like 2 new weapons that are not on my images, and the nice posters i have on my "gaming room" :P)

so lemme show what i did today: woke up about 11:30, checked gamespot and here. left because apparently today's "grandmother's day" and went to the best lasagna in town (hmm... lasagna... *drools*). came back just to play a bit of twilight princess, which i'm replaying, and then went to the mall. reason? my parents couldnt stand seeing my old, ruined tennis (i only use one pair until it's completely destroyed :P). i said "lets go this weekend then", but they couldnt hold it and bought one. didnt like it, so we went today to exchange it for a really nice one.

so we decided to go to the "mega store" before (you know, those that have every kind of media in one store?). i found TWEWY for $45, which is less than half the average price, not to mention it's around the price i have to pay to buy it from ebay (where i usually buy my DS games). still didnt play it, so dont expect much from me today :P i also found "ozzy osbourne essential" for $12. instant buy :P 2 CDs (the first one includes most of the best songs ever made by him, like bark at the moon, crazy train, and the without-black-sabbath version of paranoid) for that price is a ripoff :P i find ozzy an idiot as a person, but i cant deny it: his music is awesome :P just ignore the lyrics, though :P

that's about it :P

Model B! Model R! Model S! TRIPLE MEGAMERGE!

PS: by the time i wrote it, i still hadnt played the game :P after a while playing (day 3 now), i gotta say it's a nice game. the battles are hard to master (i usually just go all-left or all-right with the top screen and i never move neku around :P), but i guess it comes with practice. since this time i got 360 minutes instead of the usual 60, i suppose this time the mission is longer ('cause the first two were kinda short).

PSx2: yes grapefruit, your insistence somehow managed to throw that game in the store shelves :P

my ridiculously short winter break is gone...

and now i'll only have a break again on october. no saturdays, no holidays, not even some sundays. i hate our college entry system >_>

which, BTW, is a ridiculously hard test where only the ones with the X better grades get in. i made one of the hardest ones (each university has it's own test, obviously), to one of the best universities, with only 22 seats. i passed in 21st. but guess what? i have to finish high school (read: get to the end of this year) to be accepted, and cant hold my seat until i finish.

in other words, i'll have to pass the ridiculously hard test again >_>

anyways, since this monday i'm back to school. i've actually got better at bangai-O spirits, and even did some stages i thought that were impossible :P i even made some decent ones myself :D and i rented a couple games in these 2 weeks of no school. impressions list NOW:-- not now, first i'd like to tell this is my first blog (i think...) that's divided into multiple smaller blogs, so you can just skip what you dont want to read, or simply look at the picture and post a generic "cool sig" comment, just to say you actually clicked in my blog. and NOW the games:

METAL GEAR SOLID 4:GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS- i cant believe it took me so long to play that. giving this game a 10 is an offense. 10/10 is such a low score. the story itself makes the game, and i didnt care about the long cutscenes (there's one "cutscene compilation sequence" with over an hour), because they are awesome. of course, all those compliments are for those people that know the story of the MGS world, like me. for the others (ignorants), a 10/10 suits the game well, because of it's incredibly good gameplay mechanics, tight controls, epic bosses, masterpiece soundtrack, astonishing graphics (and i had to play on a low-def TV), great voice acting (if you are trying to follow the complicated story without having a clue of what's going on), and that "feels like i'm inside a movie" feeling. there's not a single thing to complain about in the game. i beat the game in the weekend i rented it. since i had other 2 days until i returned them, i decided to start again (on the last day, because i also decided to try MGS online, a pretty cool game too) on the "big boss hard" difficulty, instead of the "solid snake normal" from the first playthrough. i also decided i wouldnt kill anyone. i only killed one person, because i wanted to test my new "toy": the sorrow doll :P and yes i may buy it, if i find it for something like 15 dollars (i have too many games to get one i've already beaten, no matter how awesome it is)

BURNOUT PARADISE- yes, burnout paradise again :P i rented for my father mainly, but he suddenly got addicted to guitar hero  still a great game, even though it's cheap sometimes, and the "too close to the ground" camera can cause some trouble sometimes. i might get this one, but since we dont have access to the game's DLC here in brazil (nor we have to the PS store or the PS home... and the Xbox live services too) and the offline world can get tiring (specially if you dont have who to play with), it's just another game i just might pick

LOST PLANET- it's a nice game with nice graphics (and bosses that make shadow of the colossus bosses look like small ants), but that's it. cool, you have a grappling hook, but other than that it's just another third person shooter. not to say the (weak) story is told in a terrible way: one ssecond you dont know anything, but you trust everyone you meet with your lives, even if the first thing they ask you to do is to go out on a killing spree. then they tell you about something called NEVEC you never heard of, but they said they didnt like them, so, even without thinking if what you're doing is right, you suddenly feel ultimate hatred for those guys. not to mention the hostage that becomes your friend and helps you destroy what he used to work on for no reason. wtf? oh, and the menu interface looks like something from a flash game. you turn on the game. a giant white screen with "lost planet" written and the omnipresent "press start" icon. you finish a stage, a huge "mission clear" icon pops out of nowhere. not even some fading for it?

GUITAR HERO: SMASH HITS (WII VERSION)- not much to talk here. the songs? almost all of the 48 are awesome, which means it's as good as a regular GH title. the real problem lies in the use of the hardware. the graphics look like an unfinished PS2 game from 2001. the gems (the most important gameplay mechanic) lags. LAGS! not to mention that some gems disappear before you strum them, when you have to strum fast. that makes you have to slow down your strumming just to wait for the other gems to get close to the line. it's really annoying. maybe, if you can transfer its songs to GH 5, they'll work properly. but if i get a nice price for it (not the ridiculous $150 for the game only i've seen these days >_> it's... about $40 over the usual. yes, our prices suck >_>), i'll buy it. OR, if i can transfer it to GH 5, i'll rent it again and transfer the songs :P

LEGO BATMAN- this one i rented for my 7 year old cousin, that left yesterday. he was never really good at the wii (he didnt quite understand the whole "shaking" thing... until now. i'll explain later), and he has a PS2 and liked lego batman, so i figured he'd like it. actually, he picked it :P anyways, the game's nice, for a lego game. i'm not much of a fan of the "lego *insert something*" series. but this one was okay.

THE COUSIN FACTOR

as for why my cousin didnt play the wii, there's another reason: his hands are too small . anyways, he saw me playing wii sports these days (what? i like wii golf... and i decided to try the "91 pins explosion" trick in front of him :P) and asked to play "the bowling one" :P he's addicted to bowling now and can scores more strikes in a game than i ever could >_> and i also decided to teach him some good taste (all he plays on his PS2 are crappy movie games that he doesnt know that it's crappy because he doesnt have better options) and put him to play on my 100% file of super mario galaxy, on the order of the galaxies. took him a while to find a way to hold the nunchuck and move the analog at the same time, but he got it. only problem is that he LOVES to jump. so everytime he was going to do something, he (my cousin) started jumping, causing the wiimote to shake, causing mario to spin, causing him to get hit :P it was specially tough to convince him he'd manage to beat that lava octopus boss, but in the end he did it. of course, the giant flying beetle was too hard for him (maybe too hard for his constant jumps...) and he started crying. then i turned off the wii and told him to go sleep because it was too late (midnight >.>). but at least now he loves mario

THE... OTHER STUFF FACTOR

other than that, only thing i did was watching the new harry potter (even after 2 and a half hours of movie, i thought it was short. it got to the end when i thought it was getting to the half of it >_>) and making this new sig (i did it two days ago, actually :P)

yes i'm back to colored stuff, even though it doesnt have the same over-contrast my works usually have, and i didnt use any brushes (again... some tech brushes would be awesome, but now it's too late for that). i've been wanting a metroid other M sig for a while, but nobody posted a render i liked on planetrenders, so i turned this one (it was pretty "dirty" before) into a nice one :P

*thinks* i guess that's it.

*silence...* *you feel a knife cutting your throat. it is...*

BrunoBRS CQCing the other blogs.

PS:

yes i AM considering writing more frequent, smaller blogs.

Bangai-O, GO!!!

finally, after so much wait, i've managed to get Bangai-O Spirits. it's just AWESOME, but (as we should expect from anything related to treasure) insanely hard. but there's nothing i've found to complain about, and the stage editor is incredibly easy to use and allows you to create anything you've seen from the game (in fact, you can actually copy parts of them and paste in your own stage :P) and new things, obviously. anyways, any fan of shooters/shmups/airship games should try it. BTW, i havent tried yet, but you can actually download stages made by other people... ON YOUTUBE. how? the game transforms the data from the stage into a sound. you record it, put in a video, and someone else downloads the sound using the DS mic, which then becomes the stage created. and according to reviews (including gamespot's :o) it works fine. summarizing, to everyone that ever considered getting it (vari, if you're alive, that's directed to you :P)

now onto other news... i've got myself wi-fi internet, and yes, it works with my consoles :D right now i'm not playing anything online (except for some pokemon trades every now and then), so if you want my friend code for something, i'll be giving only my pokemon code (but only to those who'd want to trade/battle/voice chat... if voice chatting works with the DS's standard mic). same for my wii, but unlike the pokemon friend code, i'll actually post my wii # here :P

8142-7779-4350-2455

and last but not least, i've made a new sig since i finally found where all the awesome C4Ds are :P and i also uploaded new wallpapers, please check my images :D

and i've been active on the wii and DS forums :D so if anyone from my unions could tell me if they're still alive...

BrunoBRS making your DS melt due to giant lag caused by more than 300 projectiles on the screen at the same time, moving each one in one direction

Because War...

War never changes.

and that's how a game that i barely heard of until its release got into my favorites list. those who played already know i'm talking about fallout 3, the game i've finally finished yesterday, after giving it a second chance. and you dont know how much i'd regret if i hadn't given it this chance

a great, compelling story, tons of sidequests (i've beaten the game and still have half the map to check), and an epic ending. my only comlaints go to the time you have to spend to finally get to the good part. the first 10 hours (at least) you play a weak character with lack of money, ammo and stimpacks (the game's potions). in an attempt to get money, you're always overenclumbered (sp?) and cannot fast travel, which either makes you waste an hour walking back to the nearest town or give up half the spoils (my case).

but after that... there's absolutely nothing to complain. once ammo and health are not an issue, you can finally enjoy the game.

of course, claustrophobic places still scare the hell out of me in this game, but not as much in the beginning. i'd jump of joy everytime i got out of a dungeon (best term to describe insides of ruined buildings). super mutants are not something you run away from like an elephant from a mouse, and you're not forced to use weak guns to kill your foes.

the story is full of epic plot twists, but i managed to be the good guy to the end (to the point of seeing people running in my direction just to give me some ammo or money  ). you feel involved with the characters, dont want them to die (or, sometimes, WANT, and that's what quicksaves/loads are made for :P) and want to know more about them. the amount of "useless" characters thrown there just to give the place a feeling of immersion is surprising, and it just shows how much bethesda dedicated to the game. and they have a really good sense of humor (at least for people like me, that dont care about dark humor... "the red communist wave will not prevail in american territory! *blows something up*" it's funnier when you see it yourself).

the changes you can do in the story are also surprising, and depending on something you do at the begining of the game, the whole rest of the game might be drastically changed. that's something you dont see in every game.

and i hope those that still havent got a chance to play it try, and dont give up in the beginning just like i did. stick to the main story until you have enough money and ammo to do anything you want :P
