I never understood why it was Nintendos fault that third party publishers make crappy games. Shouldn't you be angry at them instead?

The ps1 was much better than the N64, THe snes version saw a MK without blood. That is unforgiveable, they choose to censor a game just so their system appealed to a more family friendly audience, thats sick, and will always put a stain on me. i recently bough a SNES just to burn and destroy it. U have to admit, overall the wii image is family friendly, and they still ride on it.... with sickens me, wii fit disgusts me, do u know its 2nd top selling nintendo product? people that buy it should be executed i do p90x, cause im extremeRandomguygsx

well check again the Wii exclusives, and compare Mario games sales, with non-Mario games exclusives (great exclusives) and you'll get the answer... its not surprising though, games with mario in their title outsell anything else ;)

Hi, I'm not a publisher. I'm a consumer.I do not care what the public thinks. I care about my own opinion. I know that's biased because that's the point of this discussion! I think MKWii is a better game. Does that mean that someone is wrong because they think MNR is better?

Nowhere in the OP does it say anything about sales nor how happy the publisher is. He argued that due to a better online and the customization options that he found MNR more fun. Now I'm going to assume that he wanted the opinions of other people on what constituted the arguably better game. well thats great. the reality is though that nobody cares about the opinon of single individuals (that includes my opinion as well). publishers care about money and money is made through sales and not props from fanboys. consumers care about their own taste and nothing more.. which means that a discussion about the superiority of a game is pointless. either you are talking about your personal taste which wont change anyway or you are talking about the perception by the publich which is measured by sales. thats actually all i was trying to say

Doesnt feel like handheld gaming.

I know alot of people just want their console games portable but to me thats not handheld gaming. It offered a distinct counterpart from console gaming, experiences that couldnt be found elsewhere. Now, i just dont see any reason to pick this up when i can get SSFIV for consoles. And its not just this, im sure when i play the other games ill just wish it was on console. Something that happened to me and my PSP. And then when Wii 2 launches (along with the other consoles) bringing 3D gaming etc. A handheld seems pretty pointless if it isnt offering anything different from consoles. Im not talking about exclusive games, but exclusive experiences.

All is not lost, as it seems Wiiware/PSN/XBLA have taken that stance.

While it seems like most announced games for the 3DS just ports from consoles I wouldn't worry. Most devkits have only been in the developers hands for like 3 months and this is only for the big publishers. The first year(s) of a new platform have always had pretty bad lineups all around. Hell, the biggest launch title for the DS was Super Mario 64 DS.
