Yeah, PS3's first AAA will be 360's third AAA... Oblivion.

Other than that, what big name games are coming out soon (not bashing the system I just honestly have no idea what other big names are coming up?)

That's my prediction.

How hard is it to implement that in a game? What stopped them? Either lack of budget (doubt it, was one of the most hyped, highest budgeted ps3 games), or lack of console power? I'm not a hardware techie so I'm not sure if having two players in the same map cause more pressure on a machine or not, but could be. :/ mehGregorCZ

That's actually exactly what it does. When playing split screen a machine has to render two completely different screens... that's why you'll notice that in some games that support it multiple screen multiplayer doesn't look quite as sharp as the single screen single player.

Taken from the review:

However, when you consider how fantastic Motorstorm's graphics are, the lack of split-screen multiplayer maybe makes a bit more sense (though it's no less disappointing, all the same). Of the current crop of PS3 games, Motorstorm absolutely takes the prize as the best looking. Sure, there's some ugly textures that crop up now and again, and the frame rate tends to dip during particularly destruction-heavy moments (split-screen would have probably murdered it altogether), but those few issues aside, the game's a real visual achievement.

That's what happens when a Dev is given enough money to make a game look great but not enough time to generate enough content.

On the most recent 1up yours podcast they said this project was troubled so I think it may or may not end up on PSN.DaysAirlines

Honestly, that would be absurd.

EDIT: As for the sticky idea, I think that's a pretty decent suggestion. The game gets quite a bit of attention and that's only going to increase when it approaches release..... why not make one centralized thread for all of those posts to be collected?

Damn, you're quick.

You must have got this thread up seconds after the review was posted.

Anyone who believes a review site's opinion holds more value than his own (on a personal level, not for the sake of an argument on System Wars) is a nut. If you love a certain food and a famous food critic tells you it's disgusting are you suddenly going to stop enjoying its taste?

These review sites are product purchase advice distributors.... most useful for people who have not played a given game and are looking for sound advice on whether or not to purchase, rent, or skip it. If a review site gives a game that you have already played and absolutely love a 5.8 does that mean you'll say to yourself "Well, damn, these people said I shouldn't love this game so I guess I won't"? No, that's stupidity. The reason I read GameSpot is because I find a number of the reviewers here to have tastes in games that are very similar to my own (more so than any other review site,) for this reason their reviews are useful when deciding what games to play next. Do I always agree with them after playing those games? No, obviously not. This doesn't stop the site from being what it's intended to be, a useful guide.

That being said, in this particular forum review scores are used for useless pissing matches between fanboys that have already played or have already decided not to play given games regardless of their review scores - that completely destroys the primary purpose of game reviews. After I've played a game my opinion is greater than his opinion, her opinion, and your opinion; however, depending on how close my tastes are to those people their opinions might be useful before I've played said game.

Motorstorm had similar hype like lost planet. It was first hyped AAA, and later when they heard the features of the game it was hyped AA.nextgengaming18

Exactly.

The 9.0+ talk came long before even the demo was released.... especially before that "official" thread that was quoted above was created (in December of 2K6... after people had been playing the demo and seeing the actual game for over a month.)

The original hype was based mostly off of the original, incredible looking trailer and the hype that followed it. Of course, people will rewrite history.....

The same thing happened with Lost Planet. After it didn't score 9.0+ Sony fanboys kept rambling on about it "flopping," Microsoft fanboys said "But we didn't hype it 9.0+" (which was partially true, the majority at the time of release weren't saying it would be 9.0+, however months and months earlier they were saying exactly that.) When Motorstorm is released and doesn't score 9.0+ Microsoft fanboys will ramble on about how it "flopped," Sony fanboys will say "But we didn't hype it 9.0+." Any sensible person can see where this is going. Rinse. Lather. Repeat.

Honestly though, who cares? None of it matters.

Heres the thread. Sorry if I seem like an a$$hole showing you this but there are lemmings all over this forum claiming Motorstorm was AAA hyped while it wasnt.

Oh, and this thread was created BEFORE the Japanese version even came out.
asdasd

No, no it wasn't. The majority of those votes were AFTER the Japanese version came out and AFTER the early impressions and reviewsstarted rolling in.

Also, people had been playing the demo for the longest time.

Motorstorm was originally hyped as a AAA title long, long before that thread was created, later it was hyped as a AA title (Jesus, I feel like a Jackass for using these terms,) just like Lost Planet was. Get over it.

You fail , sorry. Motorstorm came out December 14th in Japan. That import preview was December 18th. The thread was created December 12th.

Maybe you need to reread my post?

Isn't Motorsotrm Hype AA?KoreanX

Kind of, kind of not. At first the fanboys were talking it up to be 9.0+, especially after the original trailer and hype for the game began, but then the Japanese reviews started coming down and people started talking it up to be 8.0+ instead.

The same thing happened with Lost Planet if I recall correctly.... and maybe a couple other titles I can't think of at the moment.
