all I can say is thank God for the PS3 and 360 because if Wii was the only console we would see the biggest video game crash since the late 80s with the atari. I find it quite ironic that Nintendo saved the gaming industry in the late 80s from the Atari and its endless shovelware of titles. Now the Wii is following the same footsteps of the atari in the late 80s putting shovelware over quality and profiting from the weak minded consumer. I hope the Wii falls to 3rd place and stays there for good.

You cant be serious. I have spent most time this gen on the 360, but only a fanboy would not realize that If it wasnt for the Wii the gaming industry would have been much smaller than last gen. If there is something that is killing the industry is how, because of lack of creativity, most companies are focusing on having the most powerfull systems with the most powerfull engines, with plenty of useless features. This only leads to games being much more expensive to develop which turn into much shorter games, and because of the huge costs of development developers are not willing to take any risks.

So for pretty much everyone, except for gaming forum fanboys like ourselves, Nintendo saved gaming again.

Its not childish for the graphics... it just hve this childish aproach to gaming... making games less complex and more family friendly..

To put it another way its a lot easier to complete most wii games since they are made for kids than completing killzone or halos campaign.

Seriously a kid will be frustrated by the complexity and deepness of some games on the HD twins, but will play Mario Galaxy like crazy.

That for me is childish as in made for children.. seriously i couldn´t be more dissapointed on TLOZ: TP dificulty

eduardomatus

Theres nothing complex about the HD games, they are getting simpler and shorter everyday. If a kid struggles with something lik Halo is because he is not used to the control scheme and thats it, you need much more creativity to beat a game like Zelda or Mario than Halo or Gears.

[QUOTE="mbrockway"]Its because Nintendo ***** on 3rd parties. Nintendo doesn't think they need them, they're like a dev that happens to own a console, and its every man for himself. 3rd parties are competitors to Nintendo's games, and Nintendo doesn't like that. You never hear about N giving support to 3rd parties like Sony and MS do. Nintendo hates 3rd parties, and I think the feeling is mutual.mbrockway

CAPCOm have made many exclusive games for the wii... and another 2 are coming. TATSUNOKO VS capcom and monster hunter 3.

And Capcom owns Monster Hunter and Resident evil. They have to have some deal with Nintendo that has them by the b****. Capcom is the one giving it to Nintendo in their relationship.

Have them by the balls?? lol I think Capcom is very happy with Nintendo, Monster Hunter 3 has sold more on Japan than any game on the PS3 or 360, including MGS4, RE5 and everything else.

For the people that thinks the PS3 is going to outsell the wii this year in Japan, the wii is still getting a tales game, a mario game, a final fantasy game and a samurai warriors game this year on Japan.

hakanakumono

The Wii has a Final Fantasy side game. The PS3 has THE Final Fantasy game of this gen if not this decade.

Mario alone will sell more.

It's not that they don't count; it's more that they don't count as exclusives. It would be like comparing the PS3 to the Wii. You can't count multiplatform games the PS3 has as exclusives because the Wii doesn't have them in it's library

BPoole96

Everytime some sheep brags about the wii having exclusives, cows and lemmings say yea but they are missing all the great multiplatforms like assasins creed, re5 or wathever. Everybody just says and belives whatever fits their argument at the time. You can play Gears and ME and Halo, etc on the 360 and not on the PS3, to say they shouldnt count because they are on the PC is retarded. When you are comparing PS3 to 360, those games are exclusive to the 360, it doesnt matter if system wars agrees with that or not.

Yeah yeah it got a 97-99 on gamerankings and metacritic. You wanna know why? Because it only got 22 freakin reviews. A number of games would've got 100s by now if there was as few journalists on the gaming scene today as there was back then, so please stop saying things to make it seem like its the holy grail of gaming. Technically, RE4 is the highest rated game ever, it manages 95-96 with almost 100 reviews. So people please stop comparing everything to OOT, its just Nostalgia. Try playing the game today, it didn't age well at all.

iKINGBOBi

Thats cause today any fanboy with a blog reviews games.

With games like Muramasa (130k)and Dead Space (30k)barely selling it official most core gamers haveabandond Nintendo. Most core gamers are probobly content with letting thier wii's collect dust or just not purchasing one in the first place. Nintendo better keep the gimmicks like Wii fit coming or thier new casual aduance is gonna lose interest real quick.

Today I was playing Uncharted 2 and thought to myself what could have been if nintendo would have went HD. I dream of a day that I get to play Zelda with grafics like UC2 has. I guess I'll be waiting a long time. By then I'll probobly have grey hair and not care anymore

jdc6305

When a Zelda, Monster Hunter, Final Fantasy, Mario, Metroid, a Tales game or any AAA big budget game doesnt sell on Wii, well then maybe you have a point.

[QUOTE="Meltedweasel"] Lol yeah right. Their latest game for Nintendo was Starfox on Gamecube...that was such a damn classic right? RIGHT?! Let's not ignore the fact that during the N64 it was really a Rare and Nintendo show for that console. Rare on the 360 has been making great unique titles, but because people have more titles to choose from, it gets overshadowed. Meltedweasel

I was talking about the N64 era, all Rare games on the N64 era were made for Nintendo, Rare was part of Nintendo. Jut like today is part of Microsoft so Microsoft has an input in all the games they release, Nintendo had an input an all the games they released on the N64 era.

If Nintendo had as much input as MS then they really had NOTHING to do with the games Rare made. It was their creativity and nothing else. That sniveling character known as Miyamoto bashing Rare for making Donkey Kong Country is enough proof that Nintendo had little to do with Rare's success.

DOnt be naive man, Microsoft now and Nintendo then financed Rare games, of course they give input on the products their money is making. im not saying that without Nintendo Rare would have never made such masterpieces cause that is impossible to know.

Well at that time Rare was owned by Nintendo, so Nintendo had a lot of input in those games, for proof, just check Rare games without Nintendo. Maybe it is the other way around, without Nintendo, Rare would never got all the recognition it has,

Meltedweasel

I agree, rare really has fallen from their pedestal since leaving nintendo.
