If these rumours are true, please tell me the benefit to buy a console over a PC?

- Consoles games are more expensive.

- Consoles games will require install.

- Consoles now blocks games as well.

- Consoles hardware still can`t be upgraded.

And yes, you CAN play PC games with a pad.

Yes, you can play PC games in your LIVING ROM, on your`e TV.

Don`t be stupid.

IF MS and Sony blocks used game, gamers will cave in and accept that fact pretty fast. PC blocks every new game, and the system is very much alive. Games like Sim City doesn`t only block used game, but their blocking system turned out to be one big pain in the ass for every honest consumer out there. Still the game sold over one million within weeks, even after the DRM screw up with Diablo.

MS CAN'T blog used games, the major retailers like Game Stop would absolutely freak out on them if they did and proceed to do everything in their power to make sure that the PS4 succeeds and the NeXtbox fails.

I hope they freak out and refuse to sell their consoles.

Sony's beating around the bush right now re whether used games will play on PS4. Sony's decision is completely dependent on MS. If MS blocks used games completely and force you to be online to play then Sony will block used games and require you to pay a fee to play them. The positive is that used games will play on PS4 IF MS BLOCKS USED, whereas they will not play on Xbox.

If Sony does not block them and MS does, Sony will lose too much money. The casuals and Xbots will buy Xbox no matter what.

From what Sony has said Used games will be played like online passes.  Each game will be fixed to the console and the game will need a code to play.  Sony has said that it will be up to Publishers weather to affix games to the console or not.

BUT Sony is developing such technology for publishers to do so.  Still, Sony is allowing it as a choice and not mandatory.

Thats individual licensing. My problem with this is not that I want to buy used games (i never do), but the fact that I wont own my games any more. Thats renting games. Sony is develioping such technology for publisers to do so? Excuse me, but wtf? Do they really need technology to do this? No. Publishers can block games on consoles if they want to. Batman Arkham City blocks the catwomen part unless you buy the game brand new. Yeah, thats only about 5% of the game, but what prevents them from blocking 50%?

No.

The ArmA series has so far not been raped by the console marked like Crysis and Far Cry.

ArmA is all about modding, new patches 5 years afte release, no idiotic publishers. Enjoy your little boxes with the games you have.

LOL like Crysis was ever complicated aside from visuals. Far Cry 3 was a damn good game. Being on consoles didn't hurt it at all. Probably helped.

Far Cry was known for its good visuals. Releasing the games on old hardware just killed this experience.

I strongly recommend No One buy a Console that blocks used games because any console that does this is basically taking ownership of a product away from the consumer and selling it as a Service instead. Where MS and Sony would like to take console gaming is basically where Cable TV is. You buy the box and pay a monthly fee for your games. That is where Gaikai and rumors of Xbox having a Subscription based service seem to be headed. It may not happen this Gen but I think that is Sony and MS's Ultimate Goal here. I Don't like where this industry and the Greedy companies in it are headed. Milking consumers for all they can is where its going.

Yes, I don`t see why gamers don`t have a bigger issue with this. When talking about the used game issue, gamers only seem to think about the price, nothing more. What happens the day Sony and MS shut down the online support for the next gen consoles? Will we just sit there with a bunch of useless games and consoles we can scrap? It`s like Sim City. The day EA shuts down the online servers, the game will become useless, as well as Steam games. When downloading a game on Steam, you have to agree that you are **** the day the close the thing down. I don`t care about when it happens, it eventully will happen. I can still play my Sega Dreamcast and Mega Drive games maaaany years after they was released. Why? Because I own them. Blocking used games is the way they are doing it on PC these days. On PC I can atleast download a crack and feel some ownership back.

Stop whining. Sony has confirmed that a used game disc will play on any hardware. They also confirmed that you are able to play complete offline. Online passes for used game? Maybe. We just have to wait and see. If Microsoft bans used games completely and require always online (by the sounds of it) ... Well... To bad for them, I will no longer support them. I love the freedom of choice! :D Anyway.. Blocking used games, online requirement, having to install games on hard drive in order to play... To me this sounds like a crappy PC. Why the heck should we buy a console if all of this is true?
