Thanks...an actual answer to my question. It is a great feature. It will preserve that turbo disc drive, reduce heat in the system (not by much but, hey) and speed up load times and less pop ins. Some games are not going to see the benifit ala Halo 3. I think that is because the programmers heavily used the hardrive for a buffer to help with data streaming. This would work the same no matter where the source is coming from.
I would say that it warrants a HDD upgrade when you have the cash to burn. If your playing one game at a time then you can upgrade at your own pace. I think a 60GB would fit you fine.

[QUOTE="Bulova"]HOPE RUNS DEEP that was free was not premium...I have the free one and its for the old dashboard...the free premium one was a different one.Iconic_DI have the free premium one
Yes, but is yours called HOPE RUNS DEEP? Nobody else seems to have gotten the premium version of that one for free.
If you go to your gamercard and look at your achievements in the NXE, there are now progress bars showing your gamerscore vs. the total, and number of achievements you've unlocked vs the total.
Does anyone else feel even more like completing achievements when you see the bars that aren't full? I certainly want to go back and play some of my older games to get more achievements now because of this.
Ah Right! I thought there was a hiccup in their logic!
So, you still NEED to put the disc in even though you've installed it? What a load of tosh!
Monty--
Not really a load of tosh...whatever that is....its for faster load times, and the disc drive doesn't spin, so its much quieter....
Still, nobody has really answered my question....
Is anybody finding it effective at all? Is it worth having a couple of games installed on the drive at a time?
[QUOTE="JimJackJose"]This is what I plan to do.

Will the transfer cable work with this?
Nevermind..obviously not if you're removing your old HDD....so how would you get your game saves, arcade titles, etc.?
This is what I plan to do.
