[QUOTE="zakkro"] So if I were to attempt to refute any or all of his points, I would be "ignoring the evidence"? zakkro

Nop not if it's a valid refute, go on we'll see.

What would be a valid refute to you?

That a man 1400 years ago could have known or predicted all that without getting anything wrong.

It's obviously impossible for him to "know" 1400 years ago so one could only predict and just like all the other great thinkers and scientists of the old times, he would get some things wrong had it all been his thinking.

Here's evidence of God. You can ignore it all you want.

You can turn away from it all you want, ignore it all you want.

Dont bring in bible or anything else cuz they all have been scientifically proven wrong on many occasions which destroys the validity of true scientific information in them as any evidence..

God has given you His last holy book, it is now upto you to remain blinded or not.:)

[QUOTE="Burned_Soul"]No I meant whether nature can or cant, if it cant then DNA is no evidence of common descent.zakkro
That... doesn't make sense. Whether nature or a higher being created DNA doesn't mean that the evidence of common descent is non-existant. :?

I am not even attacking evolution, I was just stating that science DOES assume.

[QUOTE="zakkro"] It's the pattern in the DNA... not just the similarities. Also, there's the genes for teeth in chickens and the genes for tails in human that can be turned on.BumFluff122

Can you create a specie who doesnt have the patterns and similarities in DNA?

And you havent even studied species in the depths of the ocean and yet science makes such an assumption?

Are you saying God can't? But I thought he was all powerful. Are you saying that you believe all forms of animals are nothing more thna test subjects for God?

No I meant whether nature can or cant, if it cant then DNA is no evidence of common descent.

[QUOTE="Burned_Soul"]

[QUOTE="Rocky32189"] When does science ever make "assumptions"? Theories are created based on current knowledge and then evidence is brought up to back up those theories. Religion is the only one making assumptions since they do not use evidence to back up their theories.zakkro

Are you honestly gonna say that science never make assumptions?

Common descent is a big assumption, just becasue the DNA is similar, whoz to say that a living thing no matter what can ONLY have such DNA?

I can give loads of more examples...

Yes... except it's been verified through fossils and DNA. :|

Wtf? You just ignored what I said about DNA???:|

It's like this -

If the Earth could not have existed without being created by a higher power, since it's too complex to have just formed on it's own, that means the creator of the Earth would have to be equally or greater in complexity to the Earth. If the Earth was created, then so was God. If you say God has always just been there, then it's highly plausible that the universe and the planets have always just been here. Being of lesser complexity than God, it's actually more likely that the universe has always existed, than it is for God to have always just existed.

It makes absolutely no sense to claim that the universe (or Earth) could not exist by chance, but in the same breath, claim that God (a being even more complex than the Earth) has always just been there. It's backwards logic. In fact, it's not even logic at all. As soon as people get that through their heads, we'll all be better off. Religion is causing nothing but constant annoyances and roadblocks in our progress.

.

But what if God never formed?

We know earth has been formed so that argument cannot be put to it...
