From the videos I have seen, it does look like a "shattered dimensions expansion pack" - I will also wait for it to drop in price. Keep in mind, Shattered Dimensions came out in September 2010 and is now $20. Edge of Time most likely won't sell as well, so it should be $20 by April.

You have the thief's ring on. It makesit more difficult for enemies to detect you. It is VERY handy in the "OLD HERO" boss fight, but I don't remember using it any time other than that.

I'm gonna get the game this weekend but I have a feeling the more open world design may not work for meand will also effect the overall feeling of the game. I prefer the more linear gameplay of demon souls. I guess I'll see this weekend...

Dark Souls is a linear game, and like Demon's Souls, it takes some exploration. You do NOT have a Nexus, but you do have firepits ... and from there it is linear. there is NOTHING "open world" about it

If you have patience and common sense ... you shouldn't die that much. I am glad there are games that kill idiots, but don't complain about it openly.

If you were any bit of decent at Dmeon's Souls, you wouldn't need the LOCK system anyways ...
