Wow, PS3 is back to 130k even with the $100 price cut on the 60GB model. Sad, very sad.

This is a poll taken in Britain with British citizens not in the US.

No surprise there really. MS isn't doing nearly enough to market the system in Europe. Their focus seems to be all on the US, though it still seems to sell well enough in Europe.
A $200 price drop for the PS3 and it's not even a year yet. Kind of sad if you ask me. Elviathan
It's not really a $200 price drop. It's more of a $100 price drop. The $400 40GB PS3 version I would guess is nothing but the $500 20GB PS3 version, butwith a 20GB HD upgrade. Also, I would expect the 40GBand 80GB versions to maintain the same ratio as the 20GB and 60GB versions from last year, which means 80% or more of all PS3's being produced will be the 80GB version. So expect the 40GB version to be a little harder to find.
If and when Sony decides to drop the price of the PS3 to $400/$500, expect Microsoft to follow suit with a $100 price drop of their own. This means Microsoft will be hitting the sweet spot of $200 with their core system first. Couple this with the monster that is Halo 3 to drive holiday sales, and watch X360 sales fly through the roof. PS3 sales will no doubt pick up with a $100 price drop, but not as much as an X360 $100 price drop this holiday I would wager.
Looking at the history of console wars, it seemsthat the most powerful console always loses. Starting with the NES vs Sega Master System console war, the NES won, even though it was the inferior system in terms of horsepower. Then we have SNES vs Neo Geo. SNES wins even though it's the inferior system. Then with N64 vs PSX,PSX wins. Finally, with PS2 vs. GameCube/Xbox the PS2, the inferior system of the three, is the overwhelming winner here.
The Xbox360 vs PS3 warappears to be following the same trend, even though it's questionable if the PS3 even is the most powerful system. Any guesses as to the reason for why this trend exists?
To all those saying it's not inrealtime, it is. One of the developers confirmed it.
