I was thinking the x1950 pro and the 7950gt, If these are the best >200 dollar cards, which should i choose.

*** I understand all about the DX10 cards out right now, this is my first gaming PC and I will just be playing all of the dx9 games i've missed out on due to a slow pc.

you're right aaron. I've scrapped the 19", decided to use my old crt, and now i'm at $632 for this:

AMd x2 4200+ 2GB RAM, 7900GS, pluis the rest of the computer. I also upgraded the PSU to a rosewill 500W. Can't wait to order this puppy, I think I'll put ES4: Oblivion on the list as well!

Would it be worth it to just use my old 17" CRT? I might do that, it supports 1280x1024 max resolution.

It's an old Pig, but I can trade looks and flash for a powerhouse pc. http://www.ciao.co.uk/HP_Pavilion_MX70__5394239

Then would 1GB RAM be sufficient? Or does everybody use 2?

Crap! I can't get the links to show up all linky and stuff!

Here is a basic look at the PC. What kind of performance can I expect?

AMD X2 3600+, 1.5GB RAM, ATI X1900GT, 19" Widescreen Monitor

I've set out to build a mid-range budget PC. I wanted to end up at around $900, including $150 for the computer place to biuld it for me. I left some space to move in case i left some thing out, or i can upgrade something. This is where you guys come in. Review what I have, and answer  my questions please. Note I'm using another HDD with my own operating system.
I need to know: Did I leave something out? I don't mean something major, but do I need extra wires or fans?
Will something here not work? What is my weakest link?
Any help is appreciated, I'm not completely sure about this stuff, hence the $150 to get it built for me.
