I own all 3 (though my PC isn't that strong) but I think I'd give up my 360... PS3 Exclusives + Counter Strike: Source = Win.

Assassin's Creed, Army of Two, or Bioshock? I'm leaning towards Assassin's Creed because I'm not a big fan of the Platinum Hits box...

[QUOTE="daveydag"]

hi, i created a US account even though i live in the UK becuase i heard there were more games etc on it and i saw suikoden which i REALLY want to buy, saw it for 70 pounds on ebay and was like hmm no, but 5.99 dollars i can afford. i have to enter a US addy in order to pay with my credit card, and cant obviously. so i heard about the PSN cards, but not sure if i can get them over the net or wat? any help or advice on how i can pay for suikoden would be really appericated. thanks.

Use your credit card and eBay yourself an American PSN Card for $20. Once you get it, redeem the code on you're US account and bam, Suikoden all night long baby.

While a Price Drop will guarantee a S-Load of PS2's sold this year, sales don't matter to me, especially for a 9 year old console

The PS2 is a fantastic machine though, and anyone on the fence or has a PS3 with NO BC, this is a great buy.

Still, It's impressive to think how OLD the PS2 is, yet still relevant...just like the PSOne lasting for so long.

SolidTy

9 years and still relevant. PS2 is probably the best console I've ever owned. Not 100% sure if this is Sony's big annoucement though, it'd be real anticlimatic.

Firmware 2.7 now with cross game chat, faster streamline XMB, and the ability to activate a laser in space that can scratch your bum! Power of teh cell!

No but seriously though this was confirmed:

Hi everyone, the last time you heard from me, I talked about the huge milestone that PlayStation 2 achieved - reaching 50 million units sold in North America. Today I'm excited to talk about another milestone in PlayStation 2's lifespan. For the first time ever, PlayStation 2 will be offered at a price point under $100 (that's $99.99 MSRP, to be exact), starting April 1!

Why is this so significant? Well most importantly, this new price means that more people than ever will be able to join in on the fun that so many of you PlayStation 2 owners have been enjoying for years, which means new families will become part of the platform's record-breaking install base. With this new price, we intend to introduce a new generation of consumers - some of whom weren't even alive when the system was first introduced in 2000 - to the immense entertainment value offered by PlayStation 2.

In the gaming industry, the typical lifecycle for a console is around five years, but because we build each of our platforms for a large and diverse consumer base, we design our platforms differently. With the original PlayStation and now PlayStation 2, we've proven that consumers can rely on our platforms for their gaming and entertainment needs for at least a decade. This speaks to the technology and features that were packed into PlayStation 2 from the beginning, as well as to the ongoing support the platform enjoys from the publishing and retail communities and, well, all of you fans.

PlayStation 2's unmatched gaming library will grow to nearly 1,900 titles from both our first-party studios and publishing partners this year, with a particular focus on the social and sports genres that are so popular with the emerging family demographic. This will include games such as MLB '09, Ghostbusters: The Video Game, Guitar Hero Metallica and MotorStorm: Arctic Edge...not to mention the 250 titles that have achieved "Greatest Hits" status. With all of that content, PlayStation 2 is a great option for families looking for ways to share their entertainment experiences together; they can rock out to Rock Band, test their trivia knowledge with Buzz!, or simply use the PlayStation 2 as their DVD or CD player.

So to everyone who's enjoyed PlayStation 2 over the years, thanks for your continued support. And to those who will now be joining the PlayStation family, welcome!Playstation Blog

PS2's for under $100, HOOOOOORAY! YEAR OF THE PS2!

Discuss...lol

I just bought my 360 in Feb 09 and even though the 360 line up for 09 is...not that great...I'm still highly enjoying it because I have about 3 years worth of exclusives/games to pick up. Games like Gears of War, Lost Odyssey, I even plan on getting the older multiplats because why get them on PS3 when I can get em on 360 and get a little extra for em (Acheivements, Performance). Also games are pretty cheap now since it's been 3 years lol. Go for it!

playing on easy? ruined

why's that?

No thrill, it'll be a wash runthrough lol. I platinum'd Dead Space on PS3 (1000 G'd in 360 Lingo) and it was so much fun. The atmosphere was amazing and it was so much fun to dismember stuff. I loved the Plasma Cutter and Plasma Rifle, they were amazing lol. Play the game on a higher difficulty otherwise you won't have as much, trust me it's a lot more fun to play when you're all jumpy and nervous.

completely different games

l337_hax
Halo is very unrealistic. People like to just run around like crazy, because they know they will take 20 hits before they die. It doesn't put anywhere near as much emphisis on using cover/tactics as COD.bcjkdem
These two pretty much summed it up perfectly. COD/BFBC follow realistic aspects be it damage, physics, everything. Halo people jump 10100101 into the air and strafe and all that stuff which makes it a totally different shooter. Out of games that I've played that were most realistic to least it would be: Call of Duty: World at War --> Resistance 2 --> Halo 3 I'm not knocking Halo I'm just saying that it's very different to play, cover is so much more crucial in the first two games I mentioned but it seems in Halo if you keep irratically jumping you should be okay lol.

This is probably going to sound really dumb, but how do you get xbox live silver? I do not have a 360 but my friend does, and i am getting one very soon.my friend cannot usehis xbox livegold trialbecause it says he needs silver. also, if i buy a 360 off ebay, is there any way that it might not have silver. cheers.

As soon as you sign up for Xbox Live you are given the rank of Silver. It's the standard rank issued to everyone, from there you can pay how ever much (monthly, tri-monthly, yearly) to be in Gold. I just got off my one month of Gold and to be honest I really wish it was back to gold but I don't feel like spending $56 on a service I won't fully use lol. If they came out with a Live card that was based upon how many hours you played online (100 Hour Subscription) then I'd probably buy that... Come on Live, take a price drop!!! (Toronto, Canada)
