[QUOTE="CTUDude"] It's just the basic principal of charging for something that clearly should have been part of the game since launch.IronBass
Sorry if I believe in an even more basic principle: basic economics. Companies have the right to charge for what they want, just as I have the righ to pay (or not pay) for what I want.

Sure companies have the right to charge for what ever they want but factoring in the current economic situation does it seem right to charge for something that is already on the disc? Economics and the theory of profit is nice but the morality of the situation is what outweighs the economic portion. It would be like paying for a box for cereal, then paying a small fee to unlock the Cheerios from the bag...

[QUOTE="CTUDude"]Same could be said about MGO (albeit it's pretty horrible). MGS has been a SP franchise (ignoring the handhelds) and all of a sudden it came packed with Multiplayer, much like RE5, but unlike RE5, it came free. MGS4's biggest selling point too was SP, same with RE5. Unlike RE5 though, Multiplayer came free.IronBass
And? Just because Konami didn't charge means that no one is allowed to charge.

Well...Bioshock 2 is rumoured to have a Multiplayer component built in. A game that strived in the SP is now going to be offering a free Multiplayer mode. It's just the basic principal of charging for something that clearly should have been part of the game since launch.

The little difference: those games are extremely heavily multiplayer-based. Their versus multiplayer modes are maybe their biggest selling point. That's not the case of RE5.

[QUOTE="njean777"]

well dlc is a really picky subject for me. I have bought some here and there but i never just blindly buy dlc. I see what it does by means like the internet and see if it is worth it. Most of it is not worth it so i dont buy it. But for some i can attest to the 20$ tag. Like gta4 is worth 20$ IMO because it is about 8-10 hours more playtime which back in the ps2 days some ppl paid 50$ for just that.

Only thing that bothers me is like the RE5 crap with the versus mode being charged for this is just wrong i mean 5$ is not a lot of money but just the principal in charging for it is wrong.

Uh, why is that. Has there ever been a verus mode in a main series resident evil before?

It's because Multiplayer has become an industry standard nowadays. Even the bad games come with Multiplayer, to charge for something that has been made standard by everyone else is what's wrong. Imagine if you had to pay to unlock Multiplayer for Halo 3, Resistance 2, or Call of Duty...

IGN editorials really annoy. Like they have a clue about anything. DLC is fine because you don't have to buy it if you don't want to. Devs want money, this is a way for them to make money, people pay money for the content. The masses are happy and the only people whining are those on the internet forums who think you are required to buy every piece of DLC and the devs owe you for buying there games. Sheesh, get over it people.

True but if it's something where you really enjoyed a game sometimes DLC may seem like Highway robbery. I really enjoyed Dead Space but the DLC really turned me off. Do I really need to spend money on stronger weapons lol?
:owhat was so worthy of $160 DLC in Ace Combat 6?tOtalPWNaAe
Pointless Airplane skins lol. I was going to pick up the Razgriz set but then the game wasn't that great.

Found this over at IGN.com, it's a great read, especially if you've been following the System Wars debate about the fairness of DLC and so fourth.

http://xboxlive.ign.com/articles/961/961670p1.html

Enjoy, also feel free to vote in the poll!

Personally DLC only tempts me if it's something that is worth it like the LBP Metal Gear pack. Something as trivial as different set of clothes or different skins for airplanes is stupid...

[QUOTE="techguybrian"]

that was the backward compatible update for your hard drive .. it's needed before you can play any xbox games i'm sure you only need the update once and that's it.

to answer your other question .. i don't think star wars battlefront 2 is on xbox live marketplace

Damn that sucks, I really wanted to play the exclusive maps. Star Wars Battlefront II was one of my most favourite games of last gen, I spent sooooooo many hours playing with my brothers doing Conquest and Instant Action. SWBFIII PLEASE! [QUOTE="djphelps"][QUOTE="CTUDude"]

I recently popped in a copy of Soul Calibur II into my 360 Elite and it prompted me for an update. I was just wondering what the update is for and if all Xbox Originals have updates.

I'm desperately trying to locate a copy of Star Wars Battlefront II for Xbox, it originally had downloadable maps, so if it prompts for an update any chance that they'll come as well? Also it says 480p so does that mean it'll run 16:9?

Thanks!

Here is a place to purchase Battlefront 2: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B0009O7HUI/ref=sr_1_olp_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1237220693&sr=8-1 A resolution of 480p doesn't necessarily mean that it runs on 16X9.

I'm from Canada so I'd probably have to look off amazon.ca Mmmm I was hoping for a 16:9 resolution because when I run SWBFII off my PS3 it's letterboxed and it annoys me. Thanks for the help.

What date was it manufactured? Look where you plug the power into the 360, should be something along the lines of 200x-xx-xx
