@wizaard88 @Caldrin Most PC serious PC gamers have PCs that are more powerfull than a PS4. Sure there migth be a lot of casual gamers who use their laptop or off the self HP to try and play games but yeah thats not what they are designed for.
Its also pretty easy to make games for PCs as you can control different settings to cater for lower end PCs and nigher end PCs. I ahve done a bit of work in unity and its pretty easy to cater for this. As for hardware things are a lot better these days.. people either have an AMD process or an intel one, they either have an ATI card or an Nvidia one..Drivers for both are basically standard for all their cards, Most PCs are probally running windows 7 now as well.
Now people who try and run top end games in anything other than an ATI or AMD graphics card are asking for trouble as those cards are not designed to really run games..
Your also right in the fact the PS4 hardware is a set stadnard and wont really change so it does make things a bit easier but nothing major..and devs should not use that as an excuse not to design games on PCs.
@obsequies @Caldrin @Imperiacommando well not really you could buy a mid range PC and it will carry on running games just as long as a console.. but it will do a hell of a lot of other stuff than just play games. Of course spend real money of a high end pc and it will last longer. Dont get me wrong PC gamnig is more expensive and always will be, but you dont need to be spending £1000s every few years or anything.
Also about pirating games.. I know many people that own 360s that have 1000s of pirated games.. So piracy is there on consoles as well..
There are also many really godo copy protection systems for PC games.
Fade i think its called being one of my favourites.. it allows you to copy the game and run it but it soon becomes very very hard to play, gun become inaccurate and AI gets so hard you just cant play.
Also platforms like steam have helped cut down piracy.. its an easy location to buy and keep all your games and usualyl at a very good prcie as well.
Now im not saying consoles are bad or anything. A lot of people jsut want to turn on their TV and console and just play. They dont want to boot up a PC and then run games.. thats fine both have their place in this world. As I said below i think Sony moving towards hardware that is more PC based acn only be a good thing for Console and PC fans.
@Imperiacommando You do know that all these games your posting are actually designed on PCs and would have no issues running on your average PC if the company spent the tiem to port the code... They dont especially with big title games becasue they want people to buy the hardware as well.. its all about money really.
@Imperiacommando whats your point should i start posting videos of great games that are only on pc and not console as believe it or not there are qutie a few out there.
Its an awesome step in the right direction for the console market.. it might mean that PC gamers might get decent ports now that use their hardware instead of the stuff we get now..
But the PS4 specs are not of a PC of 2014 hell they dont compare to a high gaming PC from last year let alone next year..
Still either way the direction that Sony has taken the PS4 can only be a good thing for everyone.. it will be lot easier and cost less to port games to PC from that platform..
Great so now Sega are at it as well.. Now as its free I am guessing it was just content that was not quite ready when the game went gold.. still they sued to just call these patches.. hehe
