WMV is not supported! ( http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/video/filetypes.html )

Get TVersity (www.tversity.com) and you'll be able to stream wmv-files and other files like they were supported by PS3.

unless youre ok with waiting 2 or 3 hours to convert a video you should just give up on videos for the ps3 its pointless all that time just to watch a movie maybe twice. watch them off youre pcd_ano

Sounds like you should get TVersity as well =)

That really looks like an awesome tool Calibah. Thanks for the link, I'm going to try it out now!

For those of you who have trouble running video files on your PS3, and want a good conversion tool, use PS3 Video 9.
It gives you the option to convert for HDTV or normal 480p tv's at the quality you wish and works very well.

Yeah, I've used ps3video9 too. It's good, but what's great about TVersity is it encodes on-the-fly, while you're actually watching the video clip on your PS3. So you can stream your xvid/avi files from your computer to your ps3 in real-time like it was a supported file type.
You can use it not only to stream all songs/photos/videos you have on your computer, but also transfer them to your PS3.
It has support for RSS-feeds, so you can for example take The HotSpot's RSS and listen to the show that way.

meh, I had already almost written a guide how to change it when I saw your last post.. =)

Got this far (in case you need it):

Can someone with 1.9 please check out how many clicks from the 2nd line down the TV settings are apparent? and after that.. I have to rely on my hearing on this one i guess, also i'm using AV-scart connection.

RatchetofPain

1. Press X to log in on account

2. Hold left arrow until you reach "users", then go one step right to get to "Settings".

3. Hold down arrow until you reach bottom of "settings". ("Network settings")

4. Press up arrow 4x to get to "Display Settings" ( Network Settings > Remote Play Settings > Security Settings > Sound Settings > Display Settings)

5. There you have 5 options, top one is "Video Output Settings"..

I had no idea you could reserve it, which I wish I did, because the username I prefer (Caliber) always gets taken (here at Gamespot too.. :( )..

If you're worried about getting emberrased, just play deathmatch the first few times until you learn. I did that on Rainbow Six Vegas. =)
People love a noob in DM =)

Oblivion got many awards and sold good, so you lose. Most Oblivion fanboys

A lot of you people need to form your own opinions instead of counting awards and sales. All that says about the game is that it appeals to the broad dumb masses, it says nothing about the actual quality of the game.

Beth showed through interviews that they don't understand what Fallout is about, and they showed through Oblivion that they don't know what RPGs are about. I just can't figure out why they paid millions to license the Fallout IP when they're going to make a completely different game. All they're doing is dragging Fallout in the dirt, ruining our chances for someone to actually make a decent Fallout 3, so don't tell us we should be glad that at least someone is making the game.

MGS4.
While I did like RE4 I enjoyed MGS3 much more, and I expect these games to be similar to their predecessors. Unfortunately the RE-games have become watered down action games, instead of creepy adventure games like the originals.
Plus, with MGS4 being exclusive, I expect it to take more advantage of the PS3 than RE5.

Even with all that, people will abuse the system.

The same trolls that post on the forums will abuse those ratings to drive everyone else down.G013M

yeah, but the trolls will always be heavily outnumbered (especially on boards of other systems) so I don't think they'll make much of an impact really.

Your best bet is to just report those who are trolling.LTomlinson21

Yeah, maybe. But from browsing the boards I got the impression that mods dont take trolling/fanboyism very seriously unless theyinsult other users. Maybe incubus_1_7 proved me wrong =)
