[QUOTE="Laihendi"][QUOTE="Canon-Gatorade"] Is getting welfare really that simple for the average citizen?MakeMeaSammitch

Yes because hospitals are forced by law to serve people even if they don't pay.

so those people should just die if they need help?

I don't know why, but I laughed when I read this. I think that should still be kept as long as they aren't helping some illegal homicidal maniac, which luckily there are not too many of those.

I am talking the other part of the welfare programs.

Other welfare programs such as medicaid and public education are problematic with regards to immigrants because immigrants generally come here without any money or high paying job so they are not paying much in taxes even if/when they do become citizens. This lowers the quality of healthcare and education in this country because it increases the amount of people benefiting from these programs without adequately contributing to them.

What about EBT, food stamps, and those other ones?

[QUOTE="Canon-Gatorade"][QUOTE="KC_Hokie"]He did. He reduced the size of government and government spending was low. He reduced taxes such as the capital gains taxes which sparked investment in the economy. KC_Hokie

And then gave him and the country a bad image a short-time after.

I suppose. No one remembers that though...they remember economic prosperity.

People now think of Obama as being charismatic and all but in the future people will look back and see huge government, government spending up, mishandled economy, pet projects that went bankrupt, etc.

Spetzer did the same thing (i think I spelled it wrong) and everyone seemed to remember quite well instantly comparing him to bill clinton. He is often underrated like Nixon was because of this.

[QUOTE="Canon-Gatorade"][QUOTE="EmpCom"] Yeah because anything you do will have any impact on who is or is not elected in the us, EmpCom
Yes it could. But since the point is flying right by you, I'll just get back on topic, I am sensing negative vibes.

And i sense you may have an overinflated idea of your own importance but is this due to a low iq or a young age

So what you are saying is that say.... For example, just for example, if Mitt Romney where to run again in 2006, he would have no impact on who is or is not elected?

If only he walked the talk.

It will unless you love Obama and want another one of him running for office.

[QUOTE="Canon-Gatorade"][QUOTE="WhiteKnight77"]What ever we do, we should not allow anyone here illegally to have a pathway to citizenship one way or the other without them leaving. The Us granted "amnesty" to illegals years ago and it just sent a message to those here now that if they break our laws by entering the country without going through the proper channels, nothing will happen to them and they will eventually get to be US citizens. Well, that is BS and if they cannot come here properly, then they do not deserve citizenship no matter why they are here.WhiteKnight77
What about the ones that are illegal that have been here for years? I am in the minority here, but I think those who come out admitting they are illegal, like there was a CNN thing where they came out because they want there parents and think they should be legal citizens because they are like 14-16 years old illegal in the country, I think all those should be kicked out. You have been taking away resources for years, and you want relatives of yours to be instant citizens because of it?

No matter how long in they have been in the country, they are lawbreakers and they do not deserve citizenship awarded to them due to the fact that they have been here 16 or so years.

But like I said, we are in the minority, and I am not sure if there is a compromise, unless you know one I can't think of.
