.... Alright, I've been playing on the PC since the 90's and mod the heck out of my games but I have friends who never Mod games who have also been playing since the 90's. The reasoning? Well they either A) Already enjoy the core gameplay of the vanilla game B) Don't want to have to research every mod to ensure it won't kill a portion of their gaming experience or conflict with anything such as a newer patch or another mod. Just because you enjoy modding your games, doesn't mean every PC gamer out there does....In my opinion...the ones that dont use mods are not gamers they are mostly console kids who dont know how to use them...ofc u can argue with me here but any true pc gamer will tell you that they use mods...and when i say true pc gamer i mean the ones that are playing games on pc from 90's till now...
I can tell you that i enjoyed way more a modded game than the vanilla version...i can go further and say that ived enjoyed and felt more satisfied with a modded game than any other person in this world who played the same game/s as me but not modded(ofc thats arguable too...)

[QUOTE="ohthemanatee"]maybe they're getting it off STEAM?Daytona_178Does Steam no release their sales figures? They release earning and revenue but don't specifically release game numbers. The publisher may but Valve personally doesn't. Seeing how NV is tied to Steam and most of these figures are usually retail only, it may be a bit skewed.
I completely agree. Just because someone dislikes the game doesn't make it over-rated. Heck, Homeworld 1, Catacylsm, and Homeworld 2 didn't have a huge marketing blitz and didn't sell like other RTS's around at the time so not sure how it could be over-rated. As for my pick, I can't really choose anything as reviewers opinions are just that, opinions. If my opinion differs from theirs doesn't mean a thing and if the public in general enjoys the game then I think it deserves the praise it receives. Now, if a game receives all 10/10s and the public clearly hates the game then it may be considered over-rated.Homeworld and suck, two words that should NEVER be in the same sentance.

1. I guess you don't realize that in this age, money is still money and setting up shop in a different part of the continent or world still costs money. If they wished to release a game via region, they could easily set it in the program to unlock based on the IP addresses region that you are coming from or what region you have set in Steam. However, this can lead to to problems where some peoples games won't unlock due to an error with said software or releasing too early for some people in other regions due to their regional settings. Do you really want to have to contact support because you are 1 in 100,000 people not able to play a game due to an error with the algorithm that says you are in region "X"? 2. Sure, go to your local brick and mortar store and purchase the game. That is you choice as a consumer. If you don't wish to wait the few hours, go buy it now, pay additional taxes and having to drive, walk, bike your way to the store and back. Also with the physical media, you may have to deal with a more draconian DRM, lost/scratch disks, misplaced CD-Keys, etc. 3. I highly doubt a person will go through the hassle of piracy due to the fact that they have to wait a couple of hours. If you do it because of being impatient, then so be it but I have a set of morale's that dictate myself not to download games without the express consent of the company/individual who developer/published it. 4. One thing I've noticed is that if a game is releasing at a certain time worldwide and it is based in PST time for the release time, they will actually state the game is releasing a day later. So if it says Nov 11, 2010 for NA it normally says Nov 12, 2010 for Asia. Sure, they have to wait an "extra day"....even though everyone is getting the game at the exact same time.It is an issue: 1: companies like valve are too cheap to set up a shop on the east coast or even in another part of the world to release their sales on appropriate times for fans to enjoy. It would not cost a gazillion dollars to do so and frankly Valve is big enough that they could do some digital distribution server farms all around the world if they wanted to. 2: Technically right now i could go to the local brick and mortar store and buy the game and play in an hour or so instead of waiting at 3 or 4 pm ( my time ) to start my game. 3: not an issue? come back to me with the same comment when millions of people will be waiting for special ops in november and then choose to pirate the game because it is available earlier than the release time. Some people DO NOT want to wait..it is human nature... 4: in some part of the world they are already the next day after release, again in this day and age of telecommunications it is extremely retarted to say to someone they have to wait when a product is available on side of the planet and by some strange "unwritten law" it can't be available on the other side of the planet...
there are other reasons into this but i guess no one cares....

To me, this is much more epic. I don't know why, but that fight with Snake just seemed kind of boring. I know I haven't really played the MGS games and may be missing some of the reason why it is "epic" but it just didn't do much for me.
