Just one more thing Canadians are clueless on..:)

Clueless? How so?

Its pretty obvious..eh? Always a day late and a dollar short..Playing and supporting a dying platform. They will catch up soon like the rest of the world..:D

Funny. The platform is healthy in many ways and with digital distribution taking off, I sense the platform sticking around for a long time.

i bet that includes people who play those web browser games

sikanderahmed
Well that is dependent on the definition of a gamer/game. I mean, doesn't the browser based game have objectives, graphics, sounds, and even a story? What makes those games less then any retail sold games? Yes they may not sell directly but those games tend to make money via Ad placement or micro-transactions.

Because it's too cold in Canada and people would rather download than go to the store?

coreybg
It's hard to download a game when you can't get Internet to your igloo...

First time posting in SW's so feel free to rip me a new one.

I have been a person who has enjoyed consoles (Own a 360 and Wii) but have always been primarily a PC gamer. Now, in the past few years retail space for PC games have been diminishing to almost nothing here Canada. EB Games have either shoved all of their PC titles behind the counter out of sight or has 5 titles in the corner of the store on display. Futureshop in my area has almost removed their PC game library recently as well.

Now it was giving me an impression that PC gaming was losing ground in Canada, which it never seemed to be too big in the first place. I know Steam has pushed a lot of people to go completely digital distribution, such as myself but with the removal of PC games in a lot of retail stores I thought that I was an minority.....until this article came to be by CBC.ca. It shows that the PC is actually the highest played platform in Canada and the 3 consoles are actually a smaller portion of the platforms played.

Now for my question, why is it that the PC is the most played platform in Canada but yet it is losing retail space and is a very quiet scene?

I was hoping for Mech combat! That way we can get Joker's mech holding a massive Gauss Rifle shaped as his famous gag gun and the BatMech tossing School Bus size batbombs at Joker!

BF 1942 was my favorite of the series. I always loved the scale of the game and the constantly changing warfare. BF2, was good and I loved BF 2142 for the sci-fi side/titan battles. BC2, while it is fun and all it feels more like an arcade shooter then a proper BF game.

I think perception of games really depends on the price one paid for it. For example, a lot of people hated Borderlands, especially in SP, but I'm enjoying it immensely since getting it for only 10 bucks off Steam. I probably wouldn't enjoy it as much if I paid full priced for it.Dtnoip28
I paid $10 for it and I still hate it.

9 chances out of 10, you do not have administrator privileges on the college computers. This is mainly due to security and to prevent people from installing/running software that the college does not deem suitable.

Alright, let me put it this way. Go into a room by yourself for the next 2 hours and then ask your mother to walk by, give you a pat on your back, and leave again. You have experienced their form of interaction in their games and the only reason that they charge a monthly fee.

I've played CoH and it was good but the formula is getting old now. As for Champions and Star Trek Online, ya they dropped the ball. Sure, some studios learn from their mistakes and can produce a good product but I have little hope for what ever Cryptic produces.
