@swordaim2: Not to mention she was already plenty skilled in melee combat, what with her beating the crap out of people with her staff and the fact she's been surviving on her own for almost all her life and having to depend on her wits and skill on fending off whoever with what amounts to the pole Neo uses in the Matrix.
9/10 for me. The new characters were great (seriously light years ahead from most of the cast in the prequels), especially Rey. Old characters felt like seeing old family returning home again. And all the dogfighting, blasting, and banter made me make incomprehensible noises of joy. I did not like how some of the side characters did not get as fleshed out as I wanted (there is one in particular) but I figure they'd probably save them for the sequels. And some people may be turned off with its familiarity to the source movies. Still worth watching overall. And that ending...personally I loved it's poignancy. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, certainly wasn't for all I saw it with, but for me well it moved me, now I'm really looking forward to the next one.
@MAD_AI You said it right there Kickstarter= investment with risk. I've seen so many people take it as a pre-order service that they all seem to go into shock when a project goes belly up like this one did. Its no different then going into the stock exchange in that to play you have to take an appreciable risk that you will lose and in this case they lost spectacularly (and stupidly) .
It seems to me that they should have used some of that half million to hire a lawyer to write a good contract. Having a in case of breach clause in a contract is like Contract drafting 101.
