@PetJel I didn't even think about it but yeah while Snake may not be owned by playstation he certainly has more exclusivity that a Big Daddy from Bioshock lol. Oh yeah 4got about Spyro too. Not sure Why Crash hasn't been announced I still remember when he was suppose to be Sony's answer to Mario and Sonic.

@SonWind744 but a design does affeect the experience. if it didn't u could just have faceless monochrome fighters doing the same thing. Heck it could be the best fighter in the world but bad character design can skew the experience. Part of the reason....scratch that the main reason people are excited about this game is playing as iconic playstation characters. you could have kept this game+same formula without the icons and the interest would be cut in half heck so would the experience.

i thought this game was about ps icons. Why not go with the iconic dante? i know it sounds petty but i already wasn't too interested in this game this just gives me another reason to overlook it

@Jebril Yeah that's the way I'm thinking. Consoles are going to have to do something different if they want to remain relevant. With a hurt economy and other technologies advancing at a rapid rate, market between 3 console devs whose only form of competition is by who has the best exclusives, may not be the way to go.

@Dreizel Not neccesarily man with a ingle console type other companies could begin developing their own, and/or expanding their media devices also act as a console. I imagine the only thing holding back other companies form making vg consoles is that the success normally comes down who has the best exclusives. Without that being a factor. The distinguishable differences would come down to stuff like the best features, which console has the most comfortable controllers, and cheapest cost. We already pick every other electronic device this way.

And I imagine it'd be a whole lot easier on developers to only have to develop for one console.

@Jestersmiles well without worrying about which console had the best exclusives, the choice would just come down to which consoles had the best features and/or the best price. You know of like how someone might picke their TV, computer, tablet, camera, or any other device.

And likely with that being the case more companies would start making consoles or devices with console capabilities since they wouldn't have to worry about securing good console exclusive games to remain relevant. Which would probably breed more competition.

And s**** that's more money for developers who would've been otherwise exclusive developers. I mean imagine how much money mario bros would pull in if it were available for download on all consoles to mobile devices. I dare say mario bros could have easily outnumbered angry bird downloads if it had been available.

It seems like a more logical step instead of having console exclusive games, you could have games made for one universal console mad by different companies. You know kind of how u can play a Batman DVD ona Sony, Samsunsg, Panasonic etc dvd player. Or how PC games can be played on any brand computer.
