this isn't bad or negative news the way some folks are taking it it's just news in general. he isn't saying fighting game's'll be a bad fit on the WiiU just that it'd be hard to make use of the 2nd screen in a fighting game. doesn't mean that other games can't make use of it
@firedrakes This^ probably the biggest single factor i don't know why this is never brought up in the discussion of lowered game sales. The companies seem to talk about everything but this.
As consumers we might need to try even harder to support retail. I mean that's a whole set of jobs. As technology continues to become more convenient for many it makes things more inconvenient for others.
@massconquer exactly also it make since for them to cut back the manufacturing costs anyway they can, I imagine the new models'll be cheaper to make. Though I can't picture an even slimmer ps3.....it'll damn near look like the ps2 slim which was even slimmer than the ps1 slim lol
But digital games already cost more than there hard disc copies. In fact a lot of digital media seem to be over-priced. If anything I imagine digital only would bring more price-fixing and over-priced stuff.
Also probably it'd lead gamers to be even more skeptical or picky about what they buy. I mean now if you buy a game that happens to end up being medicore you have the luxury of trading it in or trying it used at a much lower price. But digital cuts all of that out.
Not to mention the first wave of systems probably won't have enough memory to support a more than 10 to 20 games on the HD. I imagine a digital only market would also cut out quite a few jobs which would be a shame. But hey it'll give the next gen more of an excuse to re-release all the games from this gen
@deadrock25 Woah wait Broken Steel was def not twice the content of Dawnguard, not even close. If anything Dawnguard is twice the content of Broken Steel.
Dawnguard adds two new perk trees, a new transformation, a few new conjuration spells, new weapons (+crossbows) & armor, alot more new enemies than Broken Steel, updated designs to all Vampire npc's, a face reconstructor (who arguably should have already been there), four new areas to explore, a few new voice actors,
All in all I'd say dawnguard is pretty much worth it's cost. The only Fallout dlc i'd say tops this or come's close is probably the Old World Blues from New Vegas. And yeah comparing a GOTY that's about 2 yrs old to this is a bit of a stretch
