I downloaded the new firmware (download and install were fast) but how to go about changing my password? BTW I live in Illinois and remember my email name and passwords. I recently checked my email for both of my accounts yet no instructions on how to change password. Do I change it when I can go online?

As much as people love new IPs this is great and all but, they should focus more on announced titles and get those on the shelves before starting to work on more titles. By doing this, it seems like they won't finish games in time and have to keep delaying them. Come to think of it, these titles may be for next gen consoles. ( I have no idea but maybe?) They probably getting ideas and artwork or something.
The way I see this is, they spread their resources too thin by taking on too many projects at once. If they focus on 2 main titles and go back and fourth then I say that's fine. However though, if they do a little here and a little there then progress is being made but not as much. ( Keep in mind though this is my opinion.) The first Final Fantasy game I ever played/ bought was FF13 and I enjoyed it. Anyway whenever Vs13 comes out, I'll keep an eye out for it.
In all seriousness, I should clarify what I have posted:
Bald guy on youtube guarantees that PSN will be back this saturday!

I happen to believe him, but since he has no real proof... I don't expect people on these boards to.
That is all.

After watching that video, part of me wants to believe it but other part says not quite yet. Saturday seems too soon so I am saying Monday. I could be wrong. Also I went to the website he posted about the article saying Sony are testing online games with new server and that seems reasonable. Here is that article website: http://www.gamesthirst.com/2011/05/12/select-gamers-are-testing-psn-sony-confirms-socom-and-other-games/
During this down time, I at first been playing Fallout New Vegas (bought game few days before outage), Motorstorm Apocalypse ( Yes I know online components but enjoy the series), and FF13. Lately however my new college courses started and been busy with that work so haven't even turned on PS3 since. Even if the network never went offline, I haven't played an online game in months.
Just throwing in my 2 cents to this discussion. Is it just me or has the total number of PlayStation users (accounts) went up by 3 million during this whole network outage? When the network went down, I could have sworn I read 75 million users then another article said 77 million user's accounts have been hacked. Now in the posted article, "As a make-good to the now-78 million PSN users across the globe..." 78 huh? I thought you needed the network to be online before making an account though to verify and log in the details. Another thing on my mind about the "welcome back" program. Sony Qriocity I really don't care for it besides the free game. This is just my opinion though. PS+ seems good but is it true the stuff we download we keep ornot. I heard from other users that after your subscription is up, the things you downloaded won't work anymore unless you renew. Just want a clear definition on this. Thank you to whoever responds. Lastly, do you think it is rumors of cross game chat coming to PSN or not? I say this because Sony said in one of their blogs about this issue (already posted here but somewhere)that cross game chat may become available due to their new network. The previous network couldn't do this feature based on the way it was original laid out. While reading their newest blog entry (April 30) they said this "Additional "Welcome Back" entertainment and service offerings will be rolled out over the coming weeks". The stuff we are getting right away (1 month PS+, free game, 1 month Qriocity)could be the tip of the iceberg or the main course then the rest of stuff could be the dessert. Sorry for the long read, I sometimes ramble on with extra detail and its 2:20 am here so I'm tired.
BTW here is the newest blog: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/04/30/press-release-some-playstation-network-and-qriocity-services-to-be-available-this-week/
On a side note, when I go back to college Monday (been on spring break), my friends won't shut up about this issue because they all have 360's and I have ps3. They won't believe the truth only the rumors. When I do show them proof, they won't still won't care and still bash Sony no matter what. Anyway rambling on again but once againthank you to whoever responds to this post.
Currently I am playing Fallout New Vegas while PSN is down. I agree with what you said about living in the fallout universe as the character. Besides just fallout, any rpg will do. Scratch that idea as well, any game will do. While on topic, anybody remember that PS2 commercial that showed PS9 gaming where the person if I recall correctly breathed in the game and was the character.I always loved the concept of VR and "living out the game". I mean, look at the Call of Duty 4 campaign. Imagine al of those moments and fun in full realizm experienced as if you were there, but without the drawbacks it would have if it were real (such as the countless amount of boring preparation and travel time i between missions as well the whole dying thing).
Living through Fallout 3 without the drawbacks of having to actually die or know I'm really drinking terrible dirty water is kind of a dream of mine.

[QUOTE="bigboss5ak"]I keep hearing how live isnt immune to hacking yet im still playing reach with no problems and have been as long as i can remember. The longest i can remember going without live was maybe 5 hours due to maintainence back in 2009._VenomX
Yea right
Your link proves that even Xbox live can go down. That was for a week. PSN has been down for 5 days now ( Wednesday through Sunday). I think it will be the same for PSN as well. What if during their E3 presentation, everything goes blank. Then on their big screen screen Anonymous figure shows up saying one of their speeches. While talking however, Kevin Butler comes to the rescue somehow and fixes everything. First everybody will be like what's going on, then realize it was a stunt pulled by Sony.I think it is a pretty big blow to Sony. After all the crap Valve has said about Sony and now this..... Hopefully they do something funny at E3 to keep it light hearted.
