Teh Awesome.

I gotta thank Jarvi for the MX510 mouse. Totally awesome. Way, way better than any other mouse I've ever used, ever. Since the 510 and 518 are pretty much the same thing I don't think I'm missing much.
So now I have to pay him back in the form of presents. I'll see about that.
And now that Cross Country seasons' starting up, I'm getting more active. I've been running all year, but only a couple times a week. Now I'll be running almost everyday, so it should help, you know, keep me from dying when I'm 40.

I think this is pretty funny.

History will remember yesterday as really funny. Namely because not only did the Nintendo DS get 4 great games, but all four scored higher than Lumines. I mean, I don't have a handheld and I don't like taking sides in that particular area, but I always love to hear the sound of irony hitting a bunch of fanboys at 90 miles an hour. I mean, Lumines is the highest scored game for the PSP and that alone made it worth buying. And as a result you had all these fanboys for the PSP screaming about DS was in the crapper and how nothing could compare to Lumines. Then 3 Nintendogs games and Advance Wars DS come out, and Boom. Irony's always funny regardless of which side you're on.
What makes it really funny is that a lot of PSP fanboys admitted defeat rather than try to downplay it. Wonder when the tide will turn. If it does. Well, maybe when. Um, I don't friggin know.

W00tz0rz, Back!

Finally back from Cape Cod. Damn, what a long week.
But Jesus Christ, I go on vacation for a week, and come back to find out that some idiots are making death threats to Jack Thompson? You MORONS! If you do that, you just make us look even worse! An insult wouldn't be so bad, but what the hell?!? Just give him more ammo to use, why don't you! Idiots. I highly doubt anybody would kill him but on the off chance that somebody does, he'll become a martyr, and then we'll all be shut down.
Idiots.

Yes!!

Gundam is finally coming to the X360! WOOO! Awesome. I've been waiting for one of those.
Though I guess I show off my pitiful fanboyism by not getting a PS2. Ahh well.
See, I'd be totally fine with the PS2 if it wasn't for the entire Sony Staff being a bunch of pricks.
Whatever. Can't wait for it.
I wonder when City of Villains will come out....

There's on grievance I have with MMOs, and it's this- it can be a prepetually changing universe, but it isn't. Five months into the game, the enemies will always be the same. That doesn't mean that the combat's the same or anything- what it means is, you'll beat up countless gangs and enemies and their organization will never go away. Though it's fair to say new players would miss out, it's just.... I wish new enemies would replace old ones. Not to say there aren't new ons in City of Heroes, no- I have yet to fight them all. But I'd like to see a universe that's always changing, you know? Maybe some cities will benefit a lot from Hero activity, and they'll turn into a prosperous city, while others will crumble if there's not enough heroes taking care of it. That'd be cool.
What I really want to do though, is get involved in some of the events the game has.

Hmmm, then again...

City of Heroes is another source of detox for me now. Friggin awesome. I played it a couple times- but those were on a laptop- not the best gaming space. With a mouse and keyboard seperate, it's much easier. Addicting, too. I have to write a review.
I'm going to try to get that aritcle up, of course, on SoVGAS.

And I have just come up with an idea for a new union. The Too Human Union.
Or the Silicon Knights union. Those guys are awesome. They're Canadian, so it sorta feels like 'Man, wish a couple US citizens could be like them, or something." But the gmaing world recognizes no national borders. Ubisoft is French and does most of the US Military's games, or games based on them- so they're cool. Silicon Knights is definitely one of my favorite companies of all time. The Metal Gear Solid redo, Eternal Darkness- Eternal Friggin Darkness! Now Too Human. It looks amazing, and all I have seen so far is concept art.
I'm confident that SK will deliver on Too Human because they have always delivered on their games. Though I;ve only played two fo them, I know that their previous games probably rocked because Penny Arcade seemed to have a thing for Legacy of Kain.
You should check out their website. They actually consider themselves to be a Guild. That's one thing, but when you consider the fact that they see video games as the predominant art form of the 21st century, and when you see some of the art up for Too Human, you'll wonder why the hell we don't have more of these guys.

SoVGAS will be my AA.

What I mean by that is, I got sucked into System Wars. A lot. I mean, I don't actually post anything inflammatory or fanboyish- or at least, try not to, but some of these gusy can be plain annoying.
So I figure that the best way to relieve myself of this addiction to System Wars, before it corrupts me, is to do some work for SoVGAS. By doing that I can get my frontal lobe working. Instead of relying on the middle regions, which control sex and violence, which probably is the region responsible for my heinous addiction.

I saw a small group of teachers while working at the library the other day. I overheard their conversation in the Young Adult section, which entailed vile predictions and repugnant plans to corrode the souls of the next generation. The conspirators sat in their cabal whilst flipping through endless notebooks, talking much of things such as spending money and Japanese drummers.

How'd that sound? Good? I'm f$#king tired now. Maybe I can be like Tycho or something.

A deep philosophical theorization.

If I am self-owned, then I was owned by myself. Therefore I am the owned and the owner. And so I both owned and was owned. Therefore, being the owned and yet simultaneously the owner, I am neither, and am eternity.
F$ck you.

Well, ok......

So right as of this moment Steam is working fine. Sometimes playing Half-Life can still cause freeze-ups. But mostly it's ok.
Now I just have to get a wireless gaming router. That way I can speed up the download of HL2 and CS:S.

In the meantime, I'm really dumb right now. I ate three of these really huge cookies, and a serving size is one. See, I'm trying to keep from having the worst cross country season, but it's hard when you've got these awesome cookies just lying around.

Lots of things to get peed off about.

Namely, a few things.
The first is that Steam is horrible. At least right now. If it turns out that the solution to all my problems lies in buying a new router, I'm ok. But we'll just have to see, won't we?
Second, if HL2 Aftermath and HL3 are only available through Steam, that's going to be obscenely ridiculous. Hope it doesn't come to that. Steam should be an alternative, not the only way.
Third, Jack Thompson pisses me off. I'm a conservative, kind of leaning towards Republicanism, but this guy's just completely nuts. I'm all for being, you know, open minded, but thanking Hillary Clinton is something I'm not comfortable about. Not only is she a manipulative crotch monster, but Thompson acts like GTA is the only game in existence. Christ Almighty. has he never heard of Katamari Damacy? Maybe Kirby? Hell, I bet he's never even heard of Mario. Sure as hell he doesn't know about Zelda, Link, Master Chief or Solid Snake. What a freak.
Come to think of it, the maker of Katamari Damacy is just as annoying. He sits there telling everybody, "See, games don't have to be about shooting things, killing things!" Whoa! I didn't know that! Games aren't just about killing things?!? What a concept! Why don't they make games about sports then??
Ass.
